Well, you may be right however, if the cluster goes on and off it may be more. the fuse box is located under the dash on the right side. Where is the fuse box located under the hood? and what size is the fuse. Thanks

The headlight dimmer switch on a 1984 Chevrolet Corvette is located on the left side of the steering column connected to the turn signal lever. It is activated by pulling the turn signal lever toward the driver.
however i dont think this your problem. the dome lights and cluster lights is controlled by am accessory fuse. there are 2 of them 1 in the kick panel under the dash, the other is under the hood. Look for a fuse labeled ACC aor accessory.

if one of the fuse is shorting out or the relay as well it can cause the issue.. Its under the hood,, look for a small black box with a removable lid, I'm not sure of the exact position. Its there with all the main fuses and relays and stuff, there is a diagram under the box cover..

It could also be a shorted harness, you have to remove the cluster and check the harness that jacks in if its slack. if the fuses and relays are in properly, that your problem is in the harness, you will need to trace the harness for a broken wire. But check fuses / relay and then the connection to the cluster.. If it isnt there then its your harness.

How do I remove the door panel on a Ford F250 Supercab. I'm trying to find the switch for the ''doors adjar' light which won't go off and subsequently keeps my dome and outside bed light on and draws down...

the door adjar switch is the problem. the cargo light stays on until 35mph, as well as the overhead dome light. i just took the bulb out of the dome light and dont worry about the cargo light. it stays on for 30 min after the truck is turned off if the switch didnt trip properly. it shouldnt cause any problems as long as your batteries are good. i havent replaced the switch yet but it should be on the part of the door by the latch. get the replacement part and do a visual I.D. when you get the panel off. then replace it. the sensor is only 14$

I have a 2010 Acadia, the interior lights do not come on when I open the door. I have pushed the dome light button in and have left the button out still no lights when I open the door. Any suggestions?

Next to the round exterior light switch is a switch that controls the brightness of the interior dome lights. You can push (detent) that button in and it will pop out to make it easier to brighten/dim those lights. The tricky part is that the switch for making the dome lights illuminate when you enter/exit the vehicle is actually the top half of the backplate of the dome brightness switch. It says "dome off" on the upper portion of the backplate. That one inch area - that barely depresses - is actually the switch to make the dome lights work with the door operation. Try pressing it and then opening your door. It should work. Good Luck!

2001 Sequoia, door ajar light goes off, but dome light stays on. Door ajar light comes on with slight pressure against closed door. Can replacing the door jam switch solve this problem? Why would the door...

To temporarily solve the light problem, I taped a washer to the inside of the door where the door hits the plunger on the light switch. A permanent solution would be to drill a hole in the door at this spot and put a self taping screw in that will trigger the switch sooner. I figured out the reason the dome light stayed on is due to the courtesy light timer and the lights would have eventually gone off.

Dome lights wont shut off

sounds like there might be 2 feeds coming to where you disconnected the switch, I would co to the reckers & get another one from a similar car. Most of them complete the circuit when they close the switch/door open when the door closes then switch it left hanging open.

Dome lights won't turn off

Been having a problem with the dome lights on a 99 chevy blazer. Still can't figure out what the problem is. There is a dome light overide button located under the dimmer wheel. When I push the overide button in the dome light goes off, but when I open any of the doors the dome light will not come on. When the overide button is out the dome light stays on all the time and will not turn off even though every door is closed. I checked all the pushbuttons and everything tests good. Has anyone had this problem and know how to fix it?

Where is the relay / speaker that the audible warning comes from?

go into the fuse box and remove the interior light fuse.there is a dome over ride so the interior lights do not come on when the door is open on most cars ,it is usually with the dash attenuator switch that controls the instrument cluster.the other option is to remove the door switch and short the two wires together

Doors unlock when driving

ON THE DOME LIGHT : you will test if the light is ok by turning the dimer for the dash light all the way up until it clicks, if the light come on, then this mean the fuse the circuit and the bulb are ok. also try by opening other doors, if the light come on by opening other door that means than the switch at that specific door is not good, if nothing of this work check all the fuses and make sure they are ok, specially the lighter fuse.

and on the unlucking doors make sure to check for a previous aftermarket alarm in your car, most of the times you wil see a little red light blinking, or have some one with little knowledge to tell you if the car does have one, and have it remove, this might be unlucking the door when you don't want to
