Most likely the tumblers came apart inside the ignition switch.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. More then likely, you are going to have to change the ignition module now. You may have broke the lock cylinder. Really, the only thing you can do now is check the obvious. You can try pushing the shifter all the way up, while in park. Apply pressure forward while trying to turn the key, if it is automatic. Apply with brake if necessary. All you can do is continue to mess with it. There are no specific tricks. Turn the steering wheel back and forth. That is about all you can do.

  • Reset your Mercedes-Benz key by placing the key in the ignition of your vehicle while the vehicle is turned off. Do not turn on the vehicle. Press a finger on the "lock" button of your key fob while the key is in the Mercedes' ignition.

  • Pull the key out of the ignition while continuing to hold the "lock" button down. Continue to hold the "lock" button for the duration of the key resetting process

  • Use another finger to push down on the "unlock" button five consecutive times. Keep holding down the "lock" button.

  • Release the "lock" button. This is the end of the resetting process for your Mercedes-Benz. Use your key fob to ensure it is properly working

    I have a 2004 Mercedes Benz CLK320 don't know why

Try using the second key if you have one. Does the key not working look like it is bent? The ignition cylinder may just be worn to the point that it needs to be replaced.

it would be cheaper to have a locksmith make a key to fit your old ignition lock. I dont know why you didnt do that, before ordering a lock cylinder. Nothing on a MB is cheap. the key is the cheapest thing there is.

1989 mercedes isnt starting and will not take a jump but battery has power but the car dosnt i checked the fuses and there good what do i do?

Ignition may be bad or stater/solenoid. Try "jumping" the starter with the key in the on position across the poles with a screwdriver if it turns over its most likely the ignition switch. If it just clicks its the starter itself. Or a little of both.

    Can't get key in ignition

The ignition tumblers may be bad. If you can get the key in there is a way to replace the tumbler, if not it may need to be drilled out.
