Repeat the same question as a search on www.youtube.com. There are thousands of videos there and any mid 90s GM product will be about the same process. Search for dashboard, radio, instrument cluster. eBay and crutchfield both have links to "how to" videos on their sites if you look for radio and CD players to replace yours.

Radio Won't Turn On

You do realize they stopped making a pontiac some years ago

You know it is not new & no one ever does anything but drive vehicles & never work on them

You do not want to-- but know you have to spend money, even if
you do all your own work

You have to spend send some money & go for a road test with
you driving & a mechanic along with a scan tool, to look at &
collect data

I doubt the vehicle has has much in the way of any Preventative
Maintenance. Those days stopped after 1990

You have to look at all data, any codes,i could go on for an hour here

You may or may not have an ABS System trac issue, & the radio
would be weeks out for me, until I ran out of data to fix,all fluids
changed, spark plugs & filters & brake work complete

Replacing the radio may be an issue, as you know some vehicles
need radio codes,so you can't use other radios in there- unless there is a work around

I think this purchase could get expensive very quick-- IF --you really
want to go thru the entire vehicle & get all things as they should be

I'm not putting all this on you,it is just vehicles are very neglected
& require more than the lay person knows

The First thing I would do- is change- Not Flush- the trans fluid
They fail as we talk here, if you don't

Power Steering Fluid & brake fluids

I just could go on all night

I hate to see you with an 8 year old vehicle, that has all
fluids, spark plugs & such -- as it left the assy line

I dont have any lights on and no code shows up on my scanner tool but still i have a vibration when i push the brakes

First thing to check is tyres and discs. There is no reason they would give you codes. You need to inspect the tyres, swap front and rear, but the most likely fault is corroded or warped discs, inspect them thoroughly, both faces, look for scoring or corrosion, uneven wear etc.

Shifting problems/ taillights

If the brake lights work but the tail lights wont then it is suggestive that one of the filament in the dual filament bulb has failed & the bulbs need replacing, with regards to the kickdown cable adjustment, get yourself a chiltons or Haynes manual, All the know how on how to do this procedure will be in there & can be done at home as long as you have torque wrench & basic mechanic tools

I want to install an antenae hook-up wit sirius satelite radio

Hi, this one is easy as pie. tools you need, philips screwdriver and a small socket set. . sitting in drivers seat look down and to your left of the column, you will see a philips head, remove it, leave door open, now on the right hand side of column about the same location is another philips head, remove it. open ash tray and check for philips heads there, insert ignition key and turn it on, dont start it, step on brake and move the shifter down into 1st gear, now you should be able to remove this whole shroud by pulling on the edges gently but firmly you will hear little pops aas you move around the edge from the radio all acros s the driver dash. now with that out of the way, remove the 2 socket head screws holding the radio bracket(1 on each side of radio). then pull radio out removing the power connector and antenna connector. there you go, install in the reverse order to finish the interior.

How do i reinstall the stereo

The instrument panel cover (and therefore the radio bezel) is fastened to the dash frame with snap-clips which cannot be seen with the instrument panel cover installed. To remove the instrument panel cover and gain access to the radio cavity, remove the radio fuse from fuse panel located on the driver's side of truck (the one that has a thumbnail opening and is triangular shaped), visible when you open the driver's door. Then set parking brake all the way down, put key in ignition and turn to "on" but not "start" and put gearshift into "L" position.
The snap-clips are located at the upper right corner, lower right corner, upper left corner, lower left corner and a few places in between, behind the dash cover over the instrument panel. You don't need any tools, just put your fingers on the seam of the dash cover and the the dash body, and pull firmly toward you until the instrument panel cover pops out and GENTLY so as not to break the instrument panel cover, continue until the instrument panel cover is loose from the dash and resting on the steering column. The headlight switch, and 4X4 switch (if equipped) remain in the instrument panel cover and will have to be unplugged to remove the instrument panel cover from the dash completely. This is a snug fit, even with the gearshift in "L".
The aftermarket radio bezel will have two screws at the bottom under the radio on the dash frame. Remove these screws, and remove the aftermarket radio from the radio cavity in the dash. The factory radio has two guide pins on the back, and the electrical connector is made into the radio and again in the back of the radio cavity. Simply slide the factory unit into the radio cavity, firmly seat it into the connector and guide pin sockets, and re-install the two screws you took out earlier.
The instrument panel cover re-installs the reverse of removal, and to seat the snap-clips, simply strike the cover sharply with the heel of your hand over each clip location. The dash will pop right back into place, and you will never know that an aftermarket head unit had ever been in there.

Have a new stereo, need to take the dash apartg to install,,,how do i disasemble it?

You don't need to take the dash apart. You need a radio removal tool. It fits into the holes on the front of the radio. It looks like a U shaped piece of wire. Just google vw radio removal tool. You can buy or make one yourself.
