Question about Toyota Land Cruiser

Open Question

Hi I sent a question regarding landruiser2 LJ79 originally came with a 4speed gearbox and 3L 2.8 CC DIESEL ENGINE,I replaced the gearbox with a 5speed gearbox from a kzj78 prado gearbox, there was better performance but I am not happy with the performance going uphill,it loses power.I have now put in a 5L 3.0litre diesel engine,I get better acceleration, but more fuel consumption and still week going uphill.I am advised to change the diff to one that comes from a kzj78 prado,as mine is small because it originally came with a small 4speed gearbox. Will this help?A fully loaded toyota hiace van with the same 5L engine as mine overtakes me easily going uphill. My question simply asks is a diff that comes from a 4speed landcruiser2 LJ79 and diff from a Kzj78 prado the same?will I get better performance going uphill if I put in the diff from a Kzj78? Thanks guys Seif.

SOURCE: KZJ78 Dashboard

There
are six screws that hold the dashboard cover that goes over the instruments,
then four screws that hold the gauge panel itself. Unplug the three wire
harnesses on back of panel, then unclip the speedometer cable by pressing
the two spring tabs around the round plug (release the speedo cable from the
clip inside the engine bay on the firewall will give extra slack in the
cable which will help a lot when trying
to reconnect).

SOURCE: Toyota Hiace 99 Fuel filter change

Look first right rear back under fuel tank,< If not, follow fuel lines from fuel tank one main line, one return line, traveling parallel to frame all the way to the motor compartment on front, can be front under right passenger side, first by the filter at the auto parts, that way you will know what to look for

the Service manual has over 9000 gif, images of parts.
i can run the disc because it needs very old windows OS.
here are some.
i can see gifs, and see only 2 pages with belts.
i see a page there with 2.0L CRD on top cover of engine,
that?
and a VW 2.0L tool diesel.
For Europe and Australia, a 2.0 L (1968 cc; 120 cid; 140ps) Volkswagen-manufactured diesel engine is fitted along with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
unquote wiki.
off VW wiki the exact engine is,

2.0 R4 8v TDI PD 47-103kW

the 2 photos below are the only 2 in my MK08 SM book.

I have put a new engine in my Hardbody 3l Diesel and my diesel pump doesnt seem to pump diesel into the engine, could this be because the pump needs replacing?

It could be, but if you haven't replaced the fuel filter for awhile, I'd start there, remember to fill the new filter with clean diesel fuel before installing, it will make the engine far easier to start. Good luck.

Toyota Hilux?
wow no year
, you do make it so hard to answer but is 96+
P1 means factory code, so autozones may fail.
5th generation 1996+

my wild guess is the 2.4L due to OBD2 status. only...you need to say..

Could you tell me where the fuel cut out valve is on a 1995 toyota estima 2.2 dti please

Hi Gaz, If we're talking about a 3L diesel engine, the fuel cut solenoid is mounted on top of the injection pump about half way along and has a single electrical cable. Toyota do not follow colour coding so I cannot give you a colour. What problem are you having? Regards John

Hi there I am thinking about replacing my 2001 3lt diesel trooper motor with a 87 3.3lt isuzu diesel motor what changer would need doing can I use the 3lt gearbox and the 3.1lt gearbox and engine mounts

The main problem that you will encounter is the mounting of the engine. You might end up having to customize the mounting brackets and reorder some components of the engine compartment in order for the replacement engine to mount correctly. You would have to balance the engine as well and pair up it's output with the capacity of the differentials. I think you can use the present gearbox but results are not guaranteed and it's not an easy fix.
