Question about 1999 Toyota RAV4

Open Question

The hatch door will not unlock on my 2006 Rav4, rendering this door useless. There is no keyhole on the handle. I cannot use the hatch at all unless I crawl over my rear seat. Once in a while by the grace of God the door will unlock. This just happened after about 6 months of being locked. I will leave my car unlocked at all times now in fear I will not be able to unlock that door again. For work I drive to some pretty scary neighborhoods so this practice is not recommended. Is there a way I can just disable the hatch door lock? I looked to see if there was a fuse to pull but that doesn't seem to be the right solution. Why would Toyota design a door like that with no keyhole???

Your power door locke solenoid is seized. You will need to replace it. You are going to have to get the entire door panel off, and then reach in to manually pull the solenoid arm to retract the lock mechanism. Then the door will open.

SOURCE: Drive Door lock only works manually

It is not that hard to fix. Actuater is sold as part of the assembly. You can't just replace it by itself. Order the part online for a lot less than dealer. I learned that when the passenger side did the same thing a couple months later and I saved $150 on line. Remove the inside door panel. Remove lock assembly from door. Remove door handle.

Do not have the fob to open the rear hatch of my 2006 Cadillac Escalade. Is there a button on the dash or door that will release it?

You'll have to unlock the doors first, then you can lift the handle on the gate from the outside, or some models have the pushbutton release just under the lift handle.

How do you open the back door (no manual)

Rear hatch is locked or unlocked with a key. (if equipped) • To open the rear hatch, insert the key into the lock, turn it to the unlock position and pull up the rear hatch by pressing the handle (DOOR). You can also lock/unlock the latch (but not release it) with the central door lock system. • If unlocked, the rear hatch can be opened by pressing the handle (DOOR) and pulling the hatch up. • To close the rear hatch, lower and push down the rear hatch firmly. Make sure that the rear hatch is securely latched.

Why won't 2004 jeep liberty rear hatch door open?

There is no keyhole and switch on the rear hatch in Jeep liberty.
You can control the hatch by remote key and window/door switch on the driver seat side.
I don't know why they make like this, it's inconvenience.

Dead battery aaa could not open the car completely shut down

Hello. If you are still locked out, I think I can help you. Above the rear license plate is a keyhole, if you have the key you can unlock your trunk/hatch from there. Then look for the manual door release lever on the driver's side above the wheel hump.

Gas hatch will not release on my rav4, How can I get it open. Need to fill up.

e most common problem is the spring on the fuel door breaks off. Have someone pull on the release cable handle, insert a credit card or something like that under the edge of the gas door, see if it will open that way. If it opens, look at the hinged end, you will probably see a piece of plastic, which holds a piece of bent springy metal. If the bent piece of metal is missing, you need to buy another at a Toyota dealer parts dept. If the bent piece of metal IS there, bend it further open to increase the tension. Try this, & if neither helps, get back to me for further info.
