It could be a bad mix of coolant and water, you may have to much coolant in there, it supposed to be mixed properly for your engine. It may also need a coolant flush, not a bad idea to flush your system and then replace all the fluid anyways.

If it's overheating badly, might want to check the water pump out?

Engine speeds up and down peugeot 106 independance 2000/01

sounds like either ur iac /or ur tps more then likly ur tps, throtle positioning sensor it controls ur feul intake more feul harder the engine runns, but iac idle air control it tells car more air higher idle less air tells tps less gas lower idle there all linked together have it put on a scanner that will narrow ur possiblities right down to the problem

im not to sure but if washed the engine while the engine was hot u probably cracked the engine block which is a LOT LOT LOT of money to repair. its like throwing very hot plate into freezing water the plate will break into pieces same concept as a hot engine and cold water they dont mix at all

CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL FIRST BUT IT SOUND LIKE YOU NEED A FLUID AND FILTER CHANGE IF TRANSMISSION FILTER STOPPED UP TRANSMISSION PUMP CAN DRAW FLUID THROUGH CLOGGED FILTER.WHEN ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION GET HOT FLUID WILL GET HOT AND THIN ENOUGH TRAVEL THROUGH FILTER SO CAR CAN SHIFT INTO OVER DRIVE.DO A FLUID AND FILTER CHANGE SEE WHAT HAPPENS.

Ref Toyota the temp gauge shows normal but bottom hose is still cold upto thermostat but hot the other side i had to drive 50 miles for botom hose to warm up

hi, this is completely normal.. engines are designed to runn hot so your thermostat will keep all of the hot water inside the engine block untill it gets to opperating temp.. if you think it is taking too long you can change the thermostat because they are known to be a little faulty at times and they can get stuck open or closed but if your engine is not overheating and if it stays at a fairly normal temp on a very long drive then i think it is fine

1999 DODGE STRATUS RUNNING HOT I CHANGED THE THERMOSTATE AND MY FAN IS WORKING PROPERLY.WHEN I NOTICED IT WAS RUNNNING HOT I OPED THE HOOD AND SAW THAT THE LAST TIME I PUT SOME OIL IN THERE I LEFT THE OIL...

Yes if it blew out the oil fill the oil to the full mark then you may have to check your thermostat to see in you turned it upside down or it's not getting water in the lower part of the block. You have to burp the system and get the air out I always put a 1/16 hole in the thermostat to allow for water to flow into the lower block Makes it much faster and keeps you from burning up the engine.

Car runns hot while idle. cools down when driving

Sounds to me like your thermostat may be sticking. I would replace it . Only should be around $15 bucks and should only take about 20 mins to do.

Thromsat

thermostat that sits between the engine and the radiator. The thermostat in most cars is about 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter.
