There are a number of components that can cause this. replacing the air flo meter may fix it could also b caused by a vacume leak. or a faulty idle stepper motor you would have to have it scaned at a workshop to tell you which components are faulty or replace them one at a time this may fix your idle problem

Honda odyssey started up, engine sounded loud while in park, Hit gas, engine reved, crackeling noise snd thick white smoke from left did of hood. ???

Check under hood for melted wires, sounds like the water pump may have or did fail. This usually will cause overheating. MAKE SURE to see if you have melted wires or parts under the hood.

Stalling and reving on a 2001 Dakota

First don't listen to Autozone, they are not trained techs and have no real experiences on what might cause this. You need to do a system scan for fault codes, if the crank sensor shows up as a fault keep in mind the sensor is not the only thing that can cause the fault code for a sensor, the wiring to it the computer and so on can cause this code as well. Have a good shop look into this problem before you start "throwing" parts at it that may or may not fix the problem.

My1991 mazda 626 will not rev up over 3000 rpm

DO YOU MEAN WHEN YOU ARE ACCELERATING? Or do you mean sitting and reving the engine? If you are just reving the engine in park then the rev limiter is kicking in.
