SOURCE: i have changed rail pressure switch on bmw 530

Hi we have a similar fault on a 2002 X5 diesel with 140k.km
scan test on 'Autologic' says > low fuel pressure in rail under starting< we have done leak off test at diesel specialist and they say it needs #4 and #2 injector renewing, the low pressure from tank is at spec at approx.3.4bar whereas the rail press at crank is only between 102bar to 140bar on 6 diff scans, where i believe it should be at around 390bar, hope this helps, we still have not fixed this yet,

Hot-film air mass sensor when diagnose say is damaged, replace it!!! Trouble when car will take up to 5.sec. is associated with this! Bank 1, the accumulated value of lambdasond the left side of the engine cylinders. While the problem is in the ignition at the 4th cylinder, Bank-1 data were then evaluated as poor. Allow change fourth ignition coil and the CAN mistake Dont look it! is an accidental fault! eventually allow for BMW servicing erase all the mistakes and make a new adaptation of the engine throttle body, and adaptation of the engine in to "0" setting

Will a EML light come on on a 2001 BMW 525i if it has a bad fuel filter?


I would assume that if the engine control module monitors the fuel pressure in the injector rail , then yes .


otherwise it will more that likely cause a random misfire in cylinders or even maybe a steady misfire in cylinders. because your fuel pressure is too low.

The BMW 330CI engine oil pressure warning lamp is lit.why?


The first trial. Switch on ignition. The engine oil pressure warning light for thered light. Start and run the engine, warning lights, half a minute later re lit, butthe Yellow state. Repeated tests a few times are so. Turn off the engine. Pull out the dipstick check the amount of oil, the normal. Self diagnosis to connect to the GTl diagnostic instrument, choose 3 E46 chassis models, click on the"test" button, the scanning of the electronic control system of the whole car.After click two times right. Enter the fault code list interface, can be seen in the"KOM combination meter" project. The store has a fault code.then use the obd code reader to check out it.

2004 ford explorer will not start but turns over


For a no start , cranks over ok. be sure you have fuel pressure at the fuel rail first, before checking the injectors. There should be more that 40 psi at the rail... if not .. you might have a fuel pump problem. Even if you have fuel pressure at the fuel rail... the next thing I would check for,,, is spark !! Make sure you have spark at the spark plugs. The order would be... fuel pressure first and then spark , , then injector pulse. !! Then plugged exhaust.... then bad fuel then engine timing. The injectors have power to them all the time. The PCM controls the ground to the injectors. So you would have to monitor the ground side of the injectors. So checking injectors is kinda complicated. Bmw 530d cranks over for 30 seconds before firing up, hot or cold


Try turning the ignition on (not to turn the engine over but only on) for 5 seconds and then off then repeat that three or four times then try and start it. If it starts up immediately after that then you have a fuel pressure problem and by doing this you are priming up the high pressure fuel rail. possible causes are a fuel filter blockage, if you dont know the history of the fuel filter then replace it, or could be a pump issue or a pressure regulator on the rail issue.

Some times hard to start then tick over lumpy then clears and run well then when revs drop engine cut out will not start no faults found on diagnostic


Is this the 3.0 diesel ? Most likely the rail oil pressure sensor is faulty but wont show as a trouble code cos it reads pressures  from 0 - 27Mpa and can  show pressure  even when  its not there ,hard to spot but pull the white wire from the car side of the injector loom by the dipstick and see if that sorts it out-  or the rail oil pressure control valve - this should show as about 20% on tech 2 at idle  if it goes below 15% the engine stops again no code will set .

My 1995 bmw wont start!


I don't think a 1995 3 series has a timing belt. 100% sure if its the inline 6 cylinder.bmw only used timing belts on two engines. (never replaced one) I would first start with a fuel pressure check to start your diagnosis. From there i'd check to see if you are getting spark and maybe even see if your plugs are fouled. If you have fuel pressure and spark, i'd suspect bad gas.(especially if the problem occured soon after filling up). It may be a good idea to do a compression check if you found no fault with the vehicle.

Cold starting problem


you could have a couple differnet issues. cold start misfires, an intake air leak, poor compression with engine cold,or a fuel pressure issue with a leaking injector or fuel pressure is bleeding back due to a faulty pressure regulator. my recommendation is to buy a fuel pressure gauge and monitor pressure overnight. you could also pull the fuel rail and see if an injector is leaking at the same time. you can spray the intake system with a highly volitile liquid(with engine running) to see if idle speed changes to check for an air leak

Last time I drove the car it started idling very


Just a guess but if you don't have an igniton problem, it may be a bad fuel pressure regulator. If the regulator diaphram fails, the engine will pull raw fuel through the vacuum line that goes to it. Also if it fails to bypass, excessive fuel pressure will flood the engine. Check the rail pressure to spec.
