Question about Buick Park Avenue

1 Answer

I was in an accident and my Driver's side rear quarter panel was hit. The Body work is done but now my driver's side rear tire is tipped in at the top slightly. I have inspected under the vehicle and can see that a straight bar is bent. I am not sure if this is called the tracking bar or not. I have been told this bar adjust the tire from tippping in at the top like it is. Also I can't find a diagram to help me so I at least know what I am looking at. Can you set me in the right direction?

Hi Doninic_butl
It does sound like your Track/Panhard bar. This bar has an adjustment that adjusts the camber of the rear tire. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: my taurus was hit at the rear quarter right on top

Parts guy would likely understand trailing arms, or you can call them control arms. Bolts are called bolts but you need to get the right ones from a dealer or junkyard they are case hardened...you cant use the hardware store kind. You can likely get the entire setup really cheap at a yard.

I have a1994 Lexus gs 300. My quarter panel was hit and now my. Rear wheel is wearing out on the inside. What happened?

Well, if you were in an accident on the rear quarter panel, I might think that the wheel could have gotten hit as well causing it to be out of alignment. If your vehicle was repaired after the accident, I would return it to the shop and let them know that you are having issues with the tire wear and see if they can submit a supplemental to the insurance company to cover any part replacement, labor, and tire replacement. If your vehicle was not repaired after the accident I think I would take it to an alignment shop before the tire is completely worn out.

I have a bent rear passenger side tire due to an accident, how do I fix it?

sounds like a hard hit ur problems can be an accumulation of one or more of the following bent rim --,bent and or broken hub,-- spindle bent or broken, shock, strut bent,broken--unibody [frame]bent ---u will have to remove wheel and look at the parts and see which is damaged also open trunk and look at the floor for bends and wrinkles also look at rear from back and look at the body for straightness unless u have a straightener for the unibody to fix body and or frame should be done by shop that is trained in repairs r the parts which ever part or parts need to be replaced they are all bolt in only worry would be replacing the strut if ur chevy came with that option most had a shock

Why is the rear left wheel scratc hing the rear fender?

If you have the originally sized tires and have had no previous accidents or possible damage to your quarter panel then your rear spring or shock on that side is bad more than likely

I was in a accident, hit rear driver side ,changed hub,&starter now car wont start

Check you Inertia Fuel Shut Off Switch. It is an magnet and steel ball that voltage to your fuel pump passes through, in an accident the ball falls off the magnet and kills the voltage to the pump. On a sedan: Position back the RH trunk liner. On a Station wagon: Remove the rear quarter trim panel. You will see a 2 wire connector going into the switch. the switch has a red button on top of it. depress this button to reset the ball onto the magnets and restore power the pump. try starting it for a few minutes as it will take time for fuel pressure to build again (dont be alarmed if it does not start right away).

Tire size ? replace all the tires

The specific tire size for your vehicle can be found on the sticker located on the body or door on the driver side. Open the driver side door and look at the rear of the door on the very back. Look around the door and body. You can only see the sticker when the door is opened. Take your vehicle to a tire specialist to have new treads installed. This is not a job that can be done without certain equipment that you won't find at any auto parts store. Please rate me on my answer.

Need driver side front quarter panel for 1995

While all those parts are available, if there is really that much damage i'd say you may be better off looking for a new car. The doors and front fender bolt on, but the rear quarter panel is spot welded in MANY spots requiring a lot of work to properly replace. You will probably find the best overall deals at the local bone yards. You may be tempted to buy parts online but keep in mind shipping those heavy parts can cost as much as the part. You can use a site such as copartfinder.com to locate a junkyard near by that has the parts you need.

you mentioned tht the quarter panel was hit before you owned it was the door hit also
if you think bout it small breaks in the wire from the accident could have got weather in them over time and cause there connections to corrode or deteroiate let an automotive electrical shop give it a look
