If you mean your cars transmission wont engage the gears it could be a couple things you could be low on transmission fluid, or worst case scenario the transmission itself could be failing

Hi Bob, it sounds like the selector linkage has slipped out of position, in P or N it should not move at all, chock the wheels and be sure to apply the parking brake firmly before adjusting the linkages

2001 ford taurus ac wont engage the compressor when moved to ac selection

Could be a bad pressure switch located on the accumulator. With the car turned off try unplugging the connector and run a wire across. Start the car and turn on the a/c. If it starts to work shut the car down and replace the switch.

I have a 2001 ford taurus n I having a problem getting it started. It turns over but wont catch it will act like it wanna catch but then she dies. It will stay runnin if I keep my foot on the gas petal...

Sounds like the idle air control valve..But first check the duct work where the air filter is ,,make sure everythings tight..Also check for wire connections are hooked up..exspecially if you have your oil change recently at a minute lube place..Sometimes they leave things off or loose

1993 ford taurus won't shift out of park

It may be the sensor or the linkage that goes from brake to tranny. The linkage may need to be adjusted.

My ford taurus (2001) wont shift into park!It seems like the shift itself is hard to move into the other gears! I have the emergency brake on to make sure it won't backout the driveway. Help me please!!

how many miles on the car and or transmission, if it feels like the shifter is binding then the linkage is most likely misadjusted, worn, or bent. usally if its the transmission then you will notice performance problems

2001 ford taurus TRANSMISSION PROBLEM

most likely due to a stripped out torque converter or a broken pump shaft. trans. has to come out to repair either or. you should make sure the fluid is full first. with the car running and warm, check fluid- if it seems over full, the pump shaft is broken, if it's just full- probably the torque conv., if its low add trans. fluid (mercon 5) 1 qt. at a time until in crosshatched area on the dipstick. hope this helps and good luck
