Either loss of fuel (injector) or loss of spark (coil pack)
Coil pack would b my guess, you can ohm them out to see if one stands out as bad.

Cadillac skip

If the check engine light is on, you may want to check for a engine misfire code which cause the engine to "skip".

My 96 Lumina, 3.1L has 94,000 miles and today during normal driving the service engine soon light came on and at idle the engine seems to be skipping or missing

If you know the plugs are fine then an ignition wire or a coil will cause the same symptom . If you had a code reader it would show you which cylinder is causing the miss. Beyond that a compresion test is needed.

I need to know how to fix my timing if it skipped a tooth i dont think anything is bent

double check all the belt timing marks and if it really has skipped a tooth you will have to release the belt tensioner, reposition the belt and re-tension it. you often get lucky if its out by just one tooth, but if it happened once it can happen again and cause real damage so don't drive it until its fixed, and make sure the tensioner is set and working correctly

Timing belt seems to be skipping or dragging causing car to drive very rough and causing the Idle to go real high or slow

the only problem you will get from the timing belt is a heavy bill when it snaps.try looking at the mass air sensor.....

Random misfire code changed plugs, coil pack, wires cannot feel car skip when driving but light keeps blinking after driving car and code comes back any suggestions

Random engine misfire is very hard to diagnose as there are alot of things that can cause this. I would check the PCV system first replace the pcv valve and inspect all lines going to the pcv valve for leaks. The other thing to do is replace the gas cap as this can also cause the code. Most likely cause is a fault in the emissions system.

3RD GEAR

Yes it is needing some sycronizers replaced probably and might also be needing a gear replaced in there. and also it will not hurt to keep driving it just skip shift like you have been so it doesnt cause any further problems .. if you keep using 3rd gear it might break off something in time just skip it .. thanks Jerry and holler if you need more.

Changed out thermostat & truck is now skipping...????

Make sure that all of the sensors are connected.  Is the Check Engine light on?  Make sure that all of the spark plug wires are still secure.
What do you mean skipping?  Is there an ignition miss (e.g. cylinder not firing) or is the ignition cutting out periodically?
