So if you start your car does the rpms go real high like you floored it you need to check out your throttle position sensoer it is on the opposite side from where ths gas pedal moves the butterfly valve it has a wire plugg going to it . check the wire harness and see if any of the wires have been rubbing anything and possibly cut a wire in half

Tps prob!!

wont go to high idle
this is the IAC failing not TPS, the tps only signals to the ECU
that you are at idle.

High idle

It's probably one of two things , a vacum leak or a bad ground.

89 cutlass cierra crank but wont start when wet out unless gas pedal is pushed

This should be a drive by wire vehicle meaning it has a cable for the throttle body. First thing would be to see if any error codes can be pulled up (most parts stores will do that for free.) Drive by wire versus the late model that use electronic control for the idle have a IAC or idle air control which when first started controls the idle air intake--all air is run by it to idle the vehicle when cold--

Usual symptoms are rather high idle when cold engine or even idle and RPM jumping up and down and stalling when cold.

Another way if idle does drop when cold is tapping the gas--engine will still run until hot. Means not usually a fuel pump issue.

You could also have if the vehicle is fuel injected a dirty Mass air flow sensor, a throttle position sensor, etc.

These can be if the vehicle has them cleaned using a special zero residue spray cleaner.

First have it scanned to see what if any errors it shows--the computer.

1995 4.3 blazer wont decelerate when driving it, the cable is not sticking, it idles a little high but like i said it is as if the cruise is set but it is not, is this some kind of sencer problem?

It sounds like your Idle Control Valve is stuck. Remove the Idle Control Valve on the throttle body and clean out the holes, and clean the Idle Control Valve. If the problem persists, replace the Idle Control Valve.

A loud noise around the area of the timing belt cover at regular idle. Disappears when driving, then reappears when at idle again.

Dear SIr,
As you saying noise wont come in driving and only comes in idle , it means noise will not come if RPM is high by norma in idle l, try this one start the car don't drive it just raise RPM(rotation per minute of only engine not vehicle speed) in neutral gear , if noise disappear that mean it a problem of drive belt . If drive belt is got less tension then also it can occur or belt is damage, replace belt problem will solve, (for reference drive belt it drive alternator, powersteering pump,A/C compressor that is made by rubber). Thanks if any problem ask me.
Yogesh.
