Question about Hyundai Tiburon

2 Answers

The Malfunction Indicator Light(check) of my 2003 Hyundai Tiburon stays on. I read the manual is says" This light illuminates when there is a malfunction of an exhaust gas related component, and the system is not functioning properly so that the exhaust gas regulation values are not satisfied." It did not specify solution. Please what can i do?

You need to scan for codes
codes will tell you what has malfuntion
you can buy a scanner or take to a garage to scan
some parts store will scan and retrive codes and make suggestion
based on previous sales what may be wrong
your car your call

Hi, the manual is not exactly right. There are actually many more possible malfunctions other than with the exhaust system that will cause the light to come on. You will need to have the car scanned to get a better idea of what is wrong. You can get a free scan at your local parts chain. Write down the trouble code and send it to us for repair advice.

Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r5932051-check_engine_light_check. These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with model, year and engine info.

Malfunction Indicator Light is on in my 2003 Hyundai XG350. It is not blinking. Won't have money to repair for a week. Can I still drive it? If not, are there any affordable service centers that offer...

When a 'check engine light' (MIL=Malfunction Indicator Lamp) is turned on, there is a DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) set/stored in the ECM/PCM (Engine Control Module/Powertrain Control Module). This code identifies which engine management system component/function experienced a malfunction. Once you pull/read this code, you may begin diagnosis.

I have a 2003 Tiburon Se what kind of oil do i need

Most autos made in the last 10 years or so use 5W-30 motor oil. Check your owners manual. Also, it usually is on the oil filler cap on the engine.

2003 Hyundai Elantra Malfunction Light is On

What you can do is go to Auto Zone and have the code read. They will do this for free. This is the best thing to do.Other wise your just wasting your money replacing things that could have nothing to do will the problem. The owners manual just gives you a vague idea of what it could be.Usually the light will have to be reset with a scan tool or after it passes the test for what ever was causing the problem the light will clear itself. Some times it can take a times before it clears.Hope this helps.Good luck.

they just hired some ******** college graduate to confuse normal people.
you can take your car to Autozone and they will check your codes for free, one of the sensors on the car did not respond fast enough for the computer, have the code cleared before doing anything to see if it returns.
your car is not running pollution free.or fuel efficient

2003 1.6 hyundai coupe eml on, no misfire at idle but can hesitate whilst accelerating, any common faults before i check with code reader

Did the "CHECK ENGINE" light illuminate (MIL = Malfunction Indicator lamp) when this happens? If so, the code reader is your FIRST step! If you didn't get a MIL, I suspect your Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) has gone bad. If you don't know how to bench test the TPS, find someone who does (using an analog ohm meter to detect bad spots in the potentiometer).
