Lower balljoint seperated from steering knuckle with the retainer bolt still in place .

I think that the factory balljoints are riveted into place, you'll have to drill or grind off the rivets to remove. Make sure your new balljoint comes with new bolts before you proceed though.

replace the entire CV axles. Support vehicle with jackstands by frame. Remove front wheels. Remove axle nuts. Remove lower balljoint nut. Separate balljoint from nuckle by banging hard with ball peen hammer on knuckle on spindle assy. Remove outer tie-rod nut. Separate tie-rod from steering nuckle by bangin on nuckle with ball-peen hammer. I have a 2001 dakota do I have to change the lower control arm to change the ball joint??

No you don't have to change the lower control arm to install a new balljoint. These balljoints come riveted in at the factory, you must grind the rivets then drive them through with a drift punch then they pull out....Then you can install new balljoints.I hope I could help...

I need to change the control arm on my chrysler

disconect the balljoint from thespindle (take the nut off the balljoint going into the spindle after taking that off hit the side spindle withe a hammer where the ball joint goes in while pulling up on the controll arm. this should pull the balljoint out of the spindle) Now all you have to do is take the bolts out of the controll arm and it should come right off. not a hard job.

Left Side is out of allginment

that easy have a allginment performed on it but first check for play in your upper and lower balljoints and tie rod ends if they hay play in them then a allginment is a waste of money. first get the front end off the ground then take a big pair of channel locks and start check those balljoints and tierodends its easy just put side of the plairs on the nut side then the other side of the plairs beside the balljoint then squez if the balljoint moves up and down then you know you have a bad balljoint and you can follow the same instructions for the tierod ends then after you replace the balljoints or tierod ends get a allginment performed

Balljoints upper &lower will not be able to complete this repair.when changing balljoints on a s/d ford you need a special tool to install the new hub seals on the axles and then install axle with this tool as well.if the hub seals are damaged the hubs will not hold vaccuum and the auto 4x4 will not work.
