Question about 1996 Chevrolet Lumina Mini

1993 chev lumina euro 3.1 "t"

I have the following problems: high irratic idle, loud backfire into intake, engine stalls, surges and stumbles. If you floor it it goes nowhere and boggs down. It also has some sort of knock, I am guessing, in the valvetrain.
What I have done to the car before these problems: 5,000 miles ago I did new heads and rocker arms, map, o2, plugs and wires, timing gears and chain, harmonic balancer, air, oil and fuel filters as well as pcv. New water pump and cooling sensors new air intake temp sensor. New battery, alternator and starter.
The problem with the backfire started a month ago. Since then I replaced, lifters pushrods, wires, plugs and coils as well as a new crank sensor. The car does not have a cam sensor. The knock is new.
Any ideas?

It can be issue with IAC( idle air control valve) causing the problem.

REPLACED THE EGR VACUUM SOLENOID NOW IDLES RUFF AND RPM GO UP AND DOWN AT IDLE


It can be issue with IAC( idle air control valve) causing the problem.

I want u to clean the air intake valve and idle speed control valve, follow the procedure below.

Here are the common cause of surges, cold stalls, stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

It dies when I hit the brakes, unless I put it in neutral, then dies when I put it in drive (its an automatic).
