The a/c system could be low on freon but not to low so as the compressor stops working this can cause your problem.you don`t say if the compressor cycles constantly as this is another indicator the system is low.

This sounds like the freon charge is low. You can go to autozone and pick up a tester and freon if needed. The tester will show you how low the freon level is and how much you need. This is a lot less costly than having a repair shop do it. They also sell freon with dye in it that is seen under a black light to detect if there are any leaks.

Left Vents blow warm/hot air when calling for cold air

Usually a sign of a faulty blend door under the dash.
The blend doors direct air thru the ac and heater core along with the upper and lower vents.

2004 Chrysler Pacifica--air conditioner/heater is not blowing in the front at all!! No defrost eithet--nothing! However, it does blow in the back but it is warm air even when the air conditioner is on. I...

You would need to know if the ac line is cold to each evaporator. Then if the blower motor for the front is getting power and ground. If the blower motor is running but no air is coming out the vents, you would need to check the blend doors under the dash.
It could be separate problems, or the PCM or ac control head on the dash.

Car blows warm air when idling

It sounds like your AC unit could be overheating or even damaged.

AC units have a sensor that will turn them off automatically to prevent damage from overheating. If there is an insufficient amount of air flow, the unit will heat up, and then eventually turn off.

When the car is moving, more air is forced over the unit, likely keeping it cool enough to run, however, when the car come to a stop, it loses that air flow, and quickly heats up. Thus, the AC would work while the vehicle is in motion, and overheat and stop when the car is stopped and idling.

However, the AC unit could be completely blown. The cold air while moving could be just a case of air being forced into the car. Think of a house fan, the fast the wind blows on you, the cooler it gets.... Thus, it could be an illusion that the AC is working when car is in motion, when it really isn't.

Hope this helps.

replace the air conditioner relay, its located underneath the hood, you will see the relay center there, look underneath the cap to identify which is the ac relay switch.

AIR CONDITIONER

On most vehicles with front and rear A/C, the two systems are basically independant of each other just sharing the compressor and condensor. It is possible that the Mode Door (controls where the air flow is sent; ie: windshield, vents, floor) is out of adjustment or sticking.
