Question about 2000 Nissan Maxima
My husband has lost his original key for his 2000 Nissan maxima. The dealer said we have to get a minimum of 2 keys to program. 2 key blanks and programming is about 265.00 plus tax. Can't afford that right now. Someone told us about streetkeys.com. Not sure I want to use them they are in Califorinia and have a PO Box. Any helpful and more affordable suggestions??? We live in Jacksonville Florida.
Go to a different dealer. You can buy any amount of keys, you want. For example 1. Who is to tell you how many keys you have to buy??( I would be pissed if I were you) I would get 1 key and get it programmed. That will save you some money for now. Get more keys later. You will have to reprogram them again, but what you gonna do?? Those keys are about $80 and to program it should not be more than 1/2 hr. ($45?) Those keys are easy to program, not like the I-Keys, that Nissan has now. And as far as the company in California?? never heard of it, but I do know that there are places that make keys with a transponder that will fit your Maxima. They are about 1/2 the cost of a Nissan key + the programing. Good luck.
