I am experiencing a squealing noise coming from the rear of my 2001 Chevy Silverado when I am accelerating. It doesnt happen when the truck is just idling or when I am coasting at a slow speed. What could be the problem? Thank you for your help.

Did you check the rest of the U-joints. If you have a hanger bearing, you should have a 2 piece drive shaft and thus 3 more U-joints that could be bad.
I have had this problem before.. change out the rear diff. fluid with fresh fluid.. note: only use quadrasteer rear diff fluid only purchaseable at a gm dealer..
You could have a bad U Joint from your drive shaft. You ca take it to any transmission shop or dealer and have them change both the front and rear U joints. Good Luck oh and when you do have them changed you can order the greasable ones, just to remember to have them greased every oil changed.
