I am having the same problem. I would really appreciate it if you have found a solution to this problem to em me. I have checked the fuel pressure, map sensor, TPS sensor and even tried a new ECM. None of them was the problem. Every once and a while I will get it to start and then after about a minute the idle will speed up and I can tell that it is getting too much gas. Then the times that it won't start I try holding down the gas so that it shuts off the fuel supply and once it begins to fire the injectors begin to just dump way to much gas into the throttle body. Let me know if you have found a solution. It info would be very much appreciated.

unless you want to blow up the intake stop giving it gas before you turn it over what you are doing is dangerous all you are doing is dumping raw unburned gas into the bottom of the intake to the motor, one of these times you go to start it it will do this boom really loud then die, it will lift the whole back end of the vehicle off the ground, then if you try to start it again okay I edited the answer also could be your catalytic convertor plugged is the exhaust coming out good, change the sensors whatever you do stop pumping the gas if it wont start now get in as you need silence so shut the door and the radio off can you hear the fuel pump? it will sound like a huum for a few seconds if you cant there is your problem all I can say is stop pumping the gas as that's why its running bad you are burning out the sensors and all the computer code stuff and wasting expensive gas too. you prolly fouled your plugs as well.

I have an 20005 acura mdx and it wouldn't start for several attempts. after about 5 mins it started rt up and has not done that again. The horn would blow and there were no indicator lights on. Could...

Sounds like it was flooded. Next time it happens. keep gas pedal all the way to the floor and hold until it fires. water in the gas, or just bad gas can do this. But if you pumped it at all while trying to start it if fuel injected can flood it. Let it sit and try again, or keep gas pedal to ground and hold until starts.

98 malibu, cranks no start, good fuel pressure, good spark, pulled valve cover and rockers are moving, starter seams to spin to freely like there is no compression

may be flooded. hold down gas pedal all the way and crank the engine, after a short time the engine will start to splutter and sound like it will fire. ease the gas pedal off slowly, while cranking, enough to get the engine started it may take a couple of goes. it may blow grey smoke when you get it going this will be raw fuel. holding the gas pedal down all the way, the engine will go into CLEAR FLOOD MODE and the injectors will not deliver any more fuel, until you ease off the pedal. check for dribbling injectors and the shop.

Have to hold gas pedal to floor to keep car running.wont go over 45 with it floored.and there is blue smoke from exhaust

i would suggest checking into the throttle positions sensor. the smoke makes it sound like the car is flooding.

The pressure regulator is most likely the problem, but have the codes read to make sure.

Real car problem

how many miles on it? if over 20k replace plugs. look into replacing wires too. oem or performance wires. and youre coil packs might be going bad too. take them off and check the back side to see if you have discoloration. all together youre looking to spend about $500. but you could probably get away with just the plugs for now. and if its still under warranty you can get it all done for free by a dealership.
