If the starter just clicks, then this is an indication that the starter is not getting enough voltage to energize the bendix which is a relay that clicks forward to engage your starter. It could be the battery is low and needs charging or replacement, or it could mean that one or more of your battery cable connectors have come corroded on your battery terminals and cannot deliver the necessary umph to energize the bendix. Take each lead off of the battery and clean with emery or sand paper and clean the post also. reconnect and try it again. However, it may mean that your alternator is bad and has not produced enough current/voltage to keep your battery charged.

How do I remove the starter on 1994 HD FLSTC 1340 EVO

It's not the starter. It has to be a wire. If you have 12 volts at the battery and the starter clicks. Check for corrosion on and at the cable ends. Also check for good ground connections. The only reason starters click is because of low voltage. Corrosion and bad connections are the cause of it. Or you battery is dieing/dead. Not all things that are new are good parts.

When i try starting the car it does a clicking sound and i keep trying till it strartes ,, would that sound like the starter going or not ?

hi the clicking sound is probably the solenoid switch on your starter motor not fully actuating
this can be because it is worn or because there isnt enough battery power to open the switch
check the condition of your battery and all conections to it and the starter motor clean off any corrosion with abrasive paper to ensure a good connection if the battery is in good condition
and the connections are good you need to get a new starter motor or find someone who can recondition your old one

How to see if my starter is good

First, check Starter FUSE and RELAY, if they are OK!! Follow this direccions to find out if your starter is busted.

When you turn the ignition key to the START position, if it cranks up (turns over), your STARTER IS OK, if it makes a CLICKING SOUND, the battery is weak, when you HEAR ONLY ONE CLICK, the starter selenoid IS GOOD, the starter may be the problem.

Good Luck!!

New battery, Altenator is good, just a "click" click" sound when I go to start it...Help !!!

if the alternator is good and the battery new then try a jump and see if it starts if it does not then this clicking sound is the solnoid on the starter clicking and the starter not engadging. the starter will need to be replaced.

2003 ford taurus when u go to start it it just clicks new starter battery good won't start just clicks

If you can verify that the battery is good then I would say that the starter itself has failed. This clicking you hear is the solenoid on the starter attempting to engage the starter.
