98 kia sportage has no power

Will not go over 15 mph

    I have similar problem. Found only 35 lbs compression on one cylinder and moisture in same cylinder, but no indication of blown head gasket or cracked head.

Is hold lite flashing,then its transmision prob. Check codes via OBD2 device.

I need to know what these 2 codes mean that i got for my 98 kia sportage: p1700, p1300. And do some codes transfer to different cars the same because its hard to find any codes that are just kia.

Please let us know the exact error code.. there is no P1700 and P1300 are not an error codes on 90 kia sportage.

Chances are the spark plugs are loose and need to be tightend.
The compression is being pushed past the plugs and blowing the wires off.
This is best case senario.

The radiator thermostat may be stuck. I've had that before. Just about any auto part store should have an employee that can help if you need it. Its a quick and easy fix/replacement. You'll definitely want to check your radiator coolant level as well.
