SERVICE engine light is different of the CHECK engine light; SERVICE is refer to the time to change fluids and periodical maintenance warning.

Good luck.

Engine management light on car runs fine

Service engine soon or check engine light? Engine light needs scanned for codes. Service engine soon is for oil changes and such. To get rid of service lights, turn the key on, press the gas pedal three times within five seconds. The light will flash. turn the key off. it's reset. At least check or change the oil and filter though.

Service transmission light turned on

The "Service Engine Soon" light, or "Check Engine" light is how a car alerts the driver of any problems related to its central computer. The ECM, or Electronic Control Module, controls the vehicle's engine and transmission. The service engine light warns if there is anything preventing the engine from, "running at top efficiency with the lowest possible emission," according to Samarins.com. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lincoln town car + service engine soon

Service engine soon has nothing to do with service or maintenance . Emission's OBD 2 engine managment system . Light on ! DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes stored . Your don't know THAT ! Your best bet , take it to the dealer .

I have a 97 nissan maxima, it was serviced in february but the service light stays on. why is the service light staying on?

this light may be the check engine light. it's misleading. I've seen two service engine soon lights in cars. one for check engine, one for service. have it checked with a scanner

Service engine soon light keeps comming on

Have had the car serviced lately? Oil change, tune up, things of that nature? It may be time to do that stuff. Does that car have a "Service Engine Soon" light and a "Check Engine" light? If the car has been serviced recently and the "Service Engine Soon" light is coming on, it's because who ever serviced it, did not reset the light. To reset the light, this works on most GM cars, turn the ignition to the "on" position DO NOT START THE CAR!!! Now within 5 seconds push the gas pedal to the floor and release it 3 times. That should reset the light if that don't work, you may want see what it says in the owners manual. Or you may have to take it to a shop. If the "Check Engine" light is coming on then there is a problem with the vehicle and there should be a "code" in the computer. Most auto parts stores will put a scanner on your car and read the codes for free. Those lights are there for a reason, if ignore them your car will let you down.

Engine Bogs with Service Engine Lights on

Your car needs O2 sensors and if one or any are unplugged your car will operate as you described(like ****). To get your check engine light off you need to find out what is triggering the check engine light sensor. It it most likely in need of an O2 sensor replacement. If you can tell me what kind of car you have I can give you more information.
