I disconected the battery for awhile to replace the ground cable when i hooked the battery back up it seems the idle is off and it is now stalling at low rpms

Computer needs to re-learn. it will take a few cycles before it goes back to normal operation. Drive it around, up & down hills, hi & low rpm & speeds, shut it down for a bit and start over again. Let the car cool down a bit before repeating. In the future, if u have to remove a battery cable, make or buy a gadget that connects a 9v battery to your cigarette lighter to hold onto the info...

Battery gauge reads low sometimes; will not start

Hello. I realize that you have checked all the connections per your ingition system. To be frank with you, you've checked everything I would have checked. I believe you may have either a dead cell in your battery or a short in it. If I were you, I'd hook-up a relative/friends battery and see if that works before I bought one. Your charging system seems to be alright, and the battery is the only other link in that chain. Let me know, I'll think on it more just in case. Thanks for trusting fixya to help get you going!

How do you hook up booster cables to the battery of a 1999 Breeze. I notice that there is a negative mount on the frame, but I can't seem to locate a metal surface to put the positive cable on. Where is...

Along with the solution provided above be sure to hook up the positive cable Red to the positive cable on the car to be jumped and the car used to jump the battery both cars off. Next on the car with the dead battery hook up the negative cable to the frame of the car if it is a liquid or lead acid battery, next hook up the negative cable to the car that will jump the other dead car. Warning an arc can cause an explosion if there is gas coming from either battery so when hooking up the negative cable be sure to clamp the negative cable on the frame. Next start the car and rev it to about 800 RPMs hold it to 800 RPMS for about 5 minute's before try starting the other car, this will allow the other battery to charge up and will help start the car. If you have small jumper cables like #6 copper give it about ten minutes to charge before try starting or you could damage the alternator of the charging car. once the time has elapsed try starting the other car, push throttle down once while cranking it over and hold pedal half way till it starts, do not crank for more than 30 seconds if it does not start wait for the battery to charge up again to try starting. with low voltage condition if you crank the car and it slows down it can damage the computer by drawing to much amperage caused by low voltage.

Car won't start. Replaced battery. worked 3 days. They said it was the alternator. REplaced with new. worked another 4 days. had it check with advance auto said battery good, starter cranking normal....

if there is no charging then its back to the alternator or the way its hooked up? did you recharge your flat battery with a mains charger after it went flat the first time? as no alternator will charge a battery from flat to fully charged,,,,even if you drove around the world none stop! the new alternator may have given up working becouse you overloaded the voltage regulator trying to recharge a flat battery witch would mean it was very week to start with?

Batteries won't charge while wired to truck

Hi, seems that your alternator diodes are faulty.
You can check this by disconnecting the radio & switching off all interior lights etc.
Then remove one battery lead.
Then get an amp meter and connect it between the battery & the removed lead.
If you get a reading the alternator is drawing current , hence faulty diodes.
The alternator will still charge the battery when the engine is going but then discharges when stopped.
Also check your batteries with a hydrometer by checking the battery acid in each cell as you could have a dodgey cell in them.
