Question about 1996 Acura RL

1 Answer

Tail lights not operating

I have a 96 Acura RL

When I turn on the lights either by "Auto Mode" or "Manually" The tail lights will not go on. Brake lights work ok, back up lights go on ok, Turn signals go on ok. But the tail lights do not work. I figured they were a closed circut, so I changed the bulbs and still didn't work. My electrition friend tested the site, and I am getting no power to the Tail Lights, But every thing else works ok. Don't know what it could be.

Check the fuse associated with ur tail lights, might be burnt out. They should be on their own circuit. Good luck...

89 acura legend tail lights stuck on. how to fix?

Tail lights or brake lights? Most common is the brake light switch stopper breaks off so the brake light switch doesn't shut off. This is above the brake pedal. Look on the floor for small broken plastic pieces. The stopper is only a few dollars, pretty easy to pop in place.

2000 Acura 3.5 RL suddenly has no tail lights or tag lights. Brake, reverse and blinker all work. Checked fuses-all appear fine. Decided to replace bulbs and noticed front right marker light out so changed...

The only thing that both the brake lights and tail lights use is a ground connection. Keep in mind the warning light on the dash may be for any exterior lamp. You may need to check the sockets and grounds on all four corners of the car.

Did you check your switch for your tail lights. You need to probe the wires from the switch to make sure you have power coming out of the switch.
