There could be two different types of leaks in this area. An oil leak, or a coolant leak. If it is an oil leak it could be a front main seal or a seal in the cam area. If it's a coolant leak it would possibly be the seal around the water pump. The only way to be able to see exactly where the leak is coming from is to remove the timing cover. But, this is no easy job if you're not really mechanically inclinde.

Hi i have a 1994 dodge caravan it is leaking oil can this be fix im worry that we would have to save money for a van for my kids thanks

The Chrysler minivan products all had leaking problems. I have had 5 or 6 different Dodge or Plymouth minivans from 88 to 99. How bad is it. The most common thing is Valve cover leaks. Front and rear seals in the engine leak as well as the oil pan gasket. If its leaking a little bit at a time open the hood and look at the front and rear of the engine. Do you see grease and oil that has gone down the sides of the engine? Do you see a lot of grease on the engine with some clean streaks going through it. You may be able to see where its leaking from. If you know someone that knows what their doing have them change the leaky gasket/s. If not you can probably have it repaired for less than buying another van unless other things are seriously wrong with the van.
Hope this helps... Dale

I got a water leak coming from the front of the engine can not locate the water pump can you please tell me what is my problem it is 1998 dodge caravan 3.0Liter v6

your on the right track it most likely is the water pump, the pump is behind the timing cover on the 3.0L V6 you have to remove the cover and the timing belt in order to replace the pump....HAVE FUN

I have a 99 dodge caravan . it leaks coolant from the back side of the engine onto the trans ,but i can't see where its coming from?

It's probably coming from a heater hose that goes into the firewall, if no hoses in this area, you probably have a leak in the head or freezeplug has rotted out and leaking.

Oil leak 3.o caravan?

No it doesn't have an external oil pump but the oil leak happens from the oil pan gasket, we have a 99 breeze with exactly the same problem, it's not gonna hurt the car too much but it's annoying to keep looking at the oil level all the time, what you can do is either use stop leak oil treatment and mix it with the engine oil, it'll stop the leak a little bit and the other way is to open the oil pan and seal it again with another gasket, there are areas like junkyards where you can go and get the parts for cars like this ( very cheap solution). Hope it helps and please don't forget to rate the answer it helps me. thanks! P.S. Comment if you need more advice.

1998 dodge caravan upper engine oil leak. Probably from a gasket or seal - not a crack. Any solutions ??

Some Dodge engines had a real problem with engine ventilation, they would become so clogged up the engine oil would or could not drain back to the oil pan.So it is very important these engines had regular oil changes. In other words....there is so much oil in the top of the engine the valve covers cannot possibly help but leak!Try to do a couple of quick oil changes and see if you can be lucky enough to get it cleaned out! Good Luck!
