Question about 2001 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab

1 Answer

Hello, Please help. I have a 2000 V6 4x4 automatic nissan Frontier pick up, my problem is that there is a lack of power, this is because when I accelerate on the highway my speed does not exceed 60 mph. Additionally, it struggles when I am climbing the flatest of hills. I have had the timebelt adjusted and the oil changed. But now it keeps ragging everytime I accelerate and makes it very difficult to overtake trucks. Please help me.....

I have a 2000 frontier with a v6 , i took it in to have the timing belt changed and when i went to pick it up it had no power, so they told me the guy had the timing a few teeth off on the right side so...

Wow, that's strange that they released the vehicle knowing the timing was off a "few teeth", that is quite a few degrees off...Was it off enough to cause a valve to slap the piston is the question...
This is an "interference" type of engine...so yes, bad things happen when the belt breaks.
If you drove it to the shop for scheduled belt maintenance, and the truck had no lack of power then...you definitely have reason to doubt the quality of work you received....I hope this helps, keep us posted on the final outcome of your truck.

Where is the thermostat located in a 2000 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab pick up? Is it at upper radiator hose at the engine end?

You are correct the upper radiator hose leads to the thermstat housing. The thermostat housing should be retained by only 2 bolts.

You could have a bad valvebody in your transmission or a bad pump in your transmission or your clutches are bad. In any case you have a bad transmission. Please rate my answer.

My 2000 nissan frontier v6 hasthe back spark plug hole stripped out. any way to repair without removing the head?

Hello;
There is a tool made to chast threads on heads. If yours is chaseabble, then get the tool. Use heavy grease to capture the filings. If you cannot do tyhis, then you can put in a thread insert. All depends on if you can get the drill at the spark plug hole perfectly.
Hope this helps;
