Did you guys check the gear shifter ?? just asking in case..

Have a diagnostic done on the cars cpu, some transmissions are electronically controlled by the cpu so if the cpu isnt sending a correct signal to tell the solenoid something but the solenoid gets stuck in high werll you can see what I'm saying. Have that done its the only way we can tell if thats the case.

in the mea time, remove the overdrive connector from the transmission, try to run your vehicle without and see if it works (properly I mean) if it does the problem is a stuck overdrive switch. replace it once you rule that out.

net we look at the park neutral switch, start vehicle, remove connector from park neutral switch, do a quick test drive. If it works could be a faulty switch if not then.. Check your gear selector cable and shifter.

ok with the above 2 we have completely ruled out the transmission, meaning the problem is external from it. more than likely the cpu. you will have to get a diagnostic done, and I've never seen a torque converter to do that, so it's eighter one of the above i described or the cars cpu..try them and give me a response.

the cpu / pcm is known as the (cars computer) its eighter inside between the driver and passenger seat under the dash, or outside mounted on the firewall. I cant be sure exactly where it is but it looks like thishttp://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/attach...

1999 chevy venture transmission won't change from

I have seen where the power supply to the solenoids is failed. Check the correct wire to verify power at the transmission. The computer will indicate that it is telling the transmission which gear to be in, but the solenoids have no power and cannot actually turn on. This is limp-in mode. It is definitely a power supply issue to the trans solenoids.

I have a 1999 dodge ram 1500 5.9 engine 46re transmission 4x4 i need another transmission what can i get another transmission out of that will work?

As bowtie352 said, according to the Hollander number only 98 & 99 will fit your truck but just in case you didn't know the Ram 2500 and 3500 should fit as well in 99 & 98. the ID # for the 1998 is 52119516 & in 1999 the ID # is 52119823. By the way the Hollander # is 400-3256. I have been in the auto repair business for way to many years but have come across a problem with this very transmission a number of times. I I can't remember the daignostic trouble code (DTC) but this problem did cause the check engine light to come on and did receive a DTC dealing with the transmission. The symptoms that the customers transmission was having was that the transmission would not downshift back to first gear and the vehicle would start from a stop in higher gear and not in first gear. Now the reason I am mentioning all the is that I have tried changing the wire harness inside the transmission and this solved the problems in all of them except a couple of them. Not saying this will fix your transmission if you are dealing with the same problem/symptom just letting you know of my experience with this same transmission. The Dodge dealership does sell this wire harness as a separate part and I think the retail cost of the harness is somewhere around a hundred daollars. Hope this helps...

Check engine light flashes on 99 Ford Expedition, hooked it up to computer and says plug # 3 is bad, I replaced it but the light is still on

Try changing the #3 cylinder spark plug wire or all wires as you probabley have to buy them in a set.
