Question about 1994 Volkswagen Golf

1 Answer

I have a 94 volkswagen golf, auto. The muffler is now hanging on one side while still bolted in from the other side. I also notice that the car sounds much louder than before. I started the car and looked underneath and noticed in the middle was leaking. It stopped leaking when I turned the engine off. I did notice a minor odor as well when I turned the engine on. I don't know what's wrong and how much to expect for repairs or replacements.

You need to shop around for a new muffler. Price is going to vary because of possible damage to brackets etc... and will require a visual inspection by shop.

Ford Escape with rusted, broken bolts/muffler hanging loose from catalytic converter estimate/fix

That is a pretty common issue with the escapes. Most of the time the broken bolts can be removed and new bolts along with a gasket can be installed and everything is fine. Sometimes the flanges are to rusted and the two pieces need to be replaced. Just depends on the vehicle.

Instructions on how to fix 98 golf driver shaft on passenger side

U have to jack the car up on passenger side. Remove the wheel after placing jack stand under car. Remove the axle nut, tie rod end and the remove the bolt that holds the lower ball joint in place. Then take a pry bar to seperate the ball joint from the spindle. You have to tap the axle out of the hub. Than on the axle shaft near the trans. is some bolts that have to be removed with a specil socket that you may be able to get from auto parts store. Remove the bolts and remove the axle. Reverse the procedure to install.

Coolant leak in VW Golf mark 5 1.9 TDi auto DSG

There is, however, an air outlet into the driver's foot area. If the heater core is leaking, the air coming through the heater core will carry the droplets into the entire air ducting system. The driver's foot area may be the closest outlet. If it smells like coolant, you need to replace the heater core regardless of where in the cabin the coolant is coming out.

My VW Polo 1.6cl Saloon 1996 4 door (100bhp)

You will need to check the gear linkage hasits free movement and the gearbox mounting is secure. This happen on a Polo recently and the securing bolt to the gearbox mounting had fallen off leaving the gearbox hanging. I hope this helps you.
