P0449 is a fault with the vent solenoid at the rear near the gas tank, not a fault for the purge solenoid, which is under the hood.

I have a PO449 code. I changed the vent valve canister, and the vent purge valve. Cleared code, and it the check engine like came right back on?

have you checked the power and ground supplies to these valves? You can test the ones you replaced by applying direct battery voltage and ground to the solenoids. If they are good, you will hear a click. This would indicate a loss of power or ground on the circuit to the new ones

2008 chevy cobalt engine light on

Your Po449 code means: Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Vent Solenoid Control Circuit. Check to see if anything on you EVAP system has gotten disconnected and make sure that none of your hoses have gotten old and bridle or have holes. If everything looks ok, you probably have to replaced the Vent Solenoid Valve, which is located on the EVAP canister.

Sounds like the purge solenoid valve or the vacuum lines going to it..You nshould have a vacuum diagram under the hood to show its location

WHAT TO DO ABOUT TROUBLE CODES PO449 & PO141 ON 01 VENTURE

code is P0449

The PCM has determined that a malfunction exists in the electrical circuit for the vent valve/solenoid in the evaporative emission control system.

Definition:
EVAP (Evaporative Emission System) purge/vent solenoid circuit condition

Explanation:
The solenoids and system wiring are monitored for opens or shorts

Probable Causes
1- Purge or vent solenoids defective
2- Check connevtor and wiring
3- Fuel saturated vapor canister
4- Failed EVAP vent solenoid

A code P0141 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
  • open or short to ground in the wiring harness
  • O2 heater circuit wiring high resistance
  • O2 heater element resistance is high
  • Internal short or open in the heater element
Note: Typically a failed catalytic converter does not cause this code. You're more likely to see a P0420 code for a failed converter.
Possible Solutions
  • Replace oxygen sensor (cannot repair open or short that occurs internally to sensor)
  • Repair short or open or high resistance in wiring harness or harness connectors
