Ianpopperl, According to the VIN you supplied here, you are driving a 2002 Jeep. The tenth digit is what provides this information. Vehicles manufacturers usually change the model year in September so if you need to know exactly when your Jeep was made, so you get the right part, you can call any dealership with theVIN and they will supply you with the exact information you need. Good Luck with this.

My jeep grand cherokee year 2002 has no chasis number,is it possible it was made without it?i have already shipped the car but wherever they go to look 4 a spair part they say they want chasis no

There is no way the car would be made without a chassis number or so called VIN identification. Since 1986 all car manufacturers are required to have the VIN in printed into the body where before they could have it on a plate, since 2000 many cars have their VIN on a small plate on the bottom of the front windscreen. have a close look around the engine bay for the VIN number on a plate or on the body itself. Or if you cannot get it just get someone to plug the diagnostics computer and you might get it this way unless the computer was erased before.

What type of brake pads do you need for a 1999 jeep grand cherokee 4x4

Any place that sells them will tell you - please - take the vin number down - year make and model and go to Advance Auto or some other retail shop and simply ask them - there is no charge and their books are best used with the vin number - while your doing this - call the local Jeep dealer and ask about any recalls on your vehicle - it can save you thousands of dollars.
