The only thing that is going to cause a gas smell inside the car while driving is a fuel leak. You need to get the vehicle up on a lift and inspect the fuel lines from the fuel tank to the fuel rails on the engine. This may or may not be related to the repairs you had done. - It depends on where the leak is...

Smell gas while driving inside car

A leaking fuel line can be discovered by looking for gaspuddles under your car when parked. A fuel-injection line may also leak, causing you to notice the smell of gasfumes during and immediately after driving. A fuel-tank vent hose may also leak, causing unburned gas to exit your fuel system as vapor.24 Apr 2015

2003 chrysler town and country Lxi 6cy. Was having trouble starting but when it did I smelled gas real bad. Then finally didn't start. Put new coil pack on but not it. Fuel pump or fuel filter?

Why would you put a coil on if you smelled gas.....I would look to see where it was coming from.I'd check both pump an filter.and .put some card board under it then turn the key to the on position ...several times see if the gas is leaking and where.or if you don't hear a slight humming noise coming from the rear the the pump is bad.

91 geo tracker died while driving cant get it started again

when you crank it, do you smell fuel? if you do, you're getting fuel so try replacing the distributer cap and even the plugs. if no gas smell, the fuel filter needs changing or the fuel pump is bad.

My car is smelling like gas.

From where? you haven't given enough info, but put a large piece of flattened cardboard under the car to see if any is leaking. You will then be able to see what general area it's coming from--if there is a leak.

It could be a fuel injector(s) or even something very simple. When is the last time you had a tune-up, including a new fuel filter? If it's been more than two years, it's overdue. That means new oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, and spark plugs. If your car has a distributor, you should also replace the distributor cap and rotor (cap).

Try to locate a specific area where the smell is coming from. Breathing gas fumes is not healthy!

I have replaced the fuel pump twice and after driving the car and it sits for two three hours it no longer starts. Could this be caused by too many amps going to the fuel pump fuse and causing it to short...

If it runs down the highway good, on a fair distance, I wouldn't suspect fuel pump. Can you hear the pump cycle if you turn key just to on position, not start, when this happens? When it's first thing in the morning and engine cool, and been sitting all night, does it start right up good most, or every time? Have you taken a close look at your oil level (it may have even increased slightly) and smell it to see if you can smell gas in it? Get right back to me with these answers, as well as any other info you can think of that may be related. Oh' by the way, what engine is it?

Fuel pump wiring diagram for 1998 chevy express. gas tank when dry, clogged fuel filter. changed fuel filter and van started he let it run out of gas again but now gettin no power to fuel pump. there is...

Well if theres power going to the relay but not out, then you need a new relay. If theres power in and out of the relay, you might need a new fuel pump. The electric fuel pumps inside the tank are actually lubricated by the fuel as it pumps it, and if it runs dry long enough, it can burn out the pump

Not starting ran out of gas, added gas and still not starting, can hear fuel pump running, smell gas at engine and exhaust.

Gas line filter may be dirty and clogged. Change it. There could be sediment or dirt in the tank that you drew up to the filter when you ran out of gas and it has built up and is blocking gas from getting into the engine.

Fuel pump noise smell gas while car is running 92 mustang

the pump should stop when it builds up to the correct pressure. if it continues to pump and you smell fuel then you probably have a fuel leek. normally fuel consumption will increase with a leek, even slightly.

97 Honda Civic will not start

change the fuel filter, a blockage could cause the lines not to output to the PGMFI rail.

also, check to see if your pump is engaging. turn the key to the on position, and listen for a slight buzz noise from the rear of the car. the fuel pump is accessable by removing the bottom of the back seat, the access door is right there.

Hard to start and smell gas

have 1994 4.3 cpi and the problem I had sounds same.
It was a leaky pressure line in pletium . easy fix $45.00 part $15.00 gasket.
the leak was caused from the fuel lines rubbing together in pletium.
take the vortec cover off ,then remove air regulator in middle and look inside . I turned on power to key and gas spray came from drivers side of pletium looking in hole.fuel line side. if gas spray on passanger side then gas regulator faulty. takes 5 min to check
After fixing truck runs runs great. no more gas smell in cab.
also you can smell oil for gas
