Theres a bleeder crew in the front of the motor by the thermose stat the you have to open when the car is running so the cooling system can release the air from the motor. it worked for me. 10mm socket will fit it.

If your 300M is overheating after draining the cooling system, let the engine idle and watch the recovery reservoir and keep it from emptying. The air in the system has a difficult time of purging due to a high point in the plumbing at the rear of the motor. if you can see thru the plastic of the reservoir you can see the water coming from the engine in a stream about the diameter of a pencil. Increase the engine speed and see if it is a solid stream or it is purging air. My 300M took about 2-3 short trips to purge all the air out. Make sure you check the system after each trip when it cools down. I also pulled the push on hose right below the radiator cap and filled the blowby tank with water also, so it would **** in water rather than air when it cooled down.

Have you checked the fan? A bad fan either electric or manual with clutch will cause a heating problem.

Only thing I do not see in your list and the most overlooked is a new radiator cap. The radiator cap itself is extremely important to regulate the pressure in the system and just something as simple as this could be the problem. If this doesn't I would have to know more. Is the heat working? If not could indicate a clog in the heater core. When you stop does the coolant overflow into the overflow (common condition when the radiator cap) is bad. Since you have done everything it is my guess since you replaced the radiator you used the old cap.

Replaced cracked radiator in 2000 Chrysler LHS but car still overheating. What could be the problem?

I had the same problem. My Chrysler LHS kept overheating. I had the thermostat changed out first and it didn't help. Then I had the water pump changed out and still did no good. Then changed out the radiator, still overheated. Come to find out the people that changed my thermostat put it in backwards. Evidently, the thermostats for these cars look different from all the others and people are not sure how to put them in. I took mine to a Chrysler dealer and they fixed it for me.

2.3l ranger keeps overheating, been through two radiators already.

Hello Ranger Joe, eight months and two radiators is very uncommon. Question, Have you visually confirmed the leak in the radiators or is the leak near the hose connections? Replacing the radiator, cap, water pump, & the thermostat leaves only two others, the hoses and the engine block/heads. Far fitched will be something or somebody poking holes in the radiator.

I am having the same prob. on 04 300m 83,000 mi. I am a chrysler tech and another tech at my shop had the same problem a week ago. Mine started when i Was on the thruway my guage crept up to 3/4 so i kicked the heat on and it went normal. After stopping I found the water pump went and was leaking bad. I replaced the waterpump timing belt and tensioner pulley. thought it was good untill on a long trip. Noticed temp goin up no leaks this time, coolant full. doesnt overheat with heater on. Actuated fans with DRB3 and both work and are working when car says its overheating. Replaced thermostat and bleed system. thought it was ok untill drove 35mi. suspecting bad wiring plugged radiator or coolant temp sensor. Still driving with heat on low to keep from overheating. any others fix this problem yet?
