It's more commonly known as the oil pump. It's in the oil pan.

Actually there are three different engines, the 2.2 Federal, The 2.2 California, and the 3.0. I opted for the most popular model as the 3.0. However, both of the 2.2 engines have the oil pump in the timing cover mounted on the front of the engine. Since it is a transverse engine that would place the front of the engine on the passenger's side. Personal attacks are prohibited on Fixya...However, I would like to know how the oil pump can be separate from the oil pump.

will try to attach a file, on 4cyl, engines oil pump removall includes taking t-belt appart as on a 6cyl, on 4cyls you can reseal tha olil pump with out removall of all assembly isjusta an O ring and a seal, this is done often when replacing t-belt, on 6cyl, you need to remove the complete assembly for inspection it is bolted from behind this includes removal of oil pan, by the way oil pressure sending switch on 4cyl engines is on left upper corner of engine block near water neck,by distribuitor, oil pressure sending unit on V6 is under alternator

Where is the pressure switch located on a 1995 V6 Toyota Camry

You would probably mean the oil pressure (or 'sender') unit. On the 1MZ alloy block V6 it is located on the front of the engine under the timing belt cover at about the level of the oil filter, below the alternator mounting. See here p140 (you don't need to do the large amount of disassembly shown in the diagram).

On the older 3VZ iron block engine it is on the outside of the block right next to the oil filter, near where the dipstick tube goes down.

1998 toyota camry,4,cylinder, 5 speed

it sounds like your oil pressure sending unit may be plugged by whatever took your pressure down to 5-8 psi the first time. this is extremely low pressure as i am sure you know but at 30 psi your light should go off i would replace the sending unit if your oil pressure is holding 30
