It is the converter maker that is the problem...I work for chrysler and we go through the same thing.
It seems that it is mostly our vans ...I just changed another one today..Your truck should be ok but if it was clogged enough to make the ex. manifold get red that is real bad !! ...
I have seen the converter itself get red but never a manifold..in 25 yrs. If you have warranty be sure they inspect the manifold for cracks....Once it has been that hot it is weakened...If it gets very, very hot then very, very cold it will crack easily ! I live at myrtle beach so if you are in a place like that you will be safe....So I believe it is the converters because I change a lot of new ones.....
Hope this helps....................................Metalpoet...........

If you are in the USA, take it to the dealer. Suppose to run for 50,000 miles with no problems. This is a EPA reg.

Wont start back after refueling?

your not mentioning if this is gas or diesel allthough im hoping it's a diesel being a f350 (gas is not so practical at this size truck)
anyway if it's a diesel and you have a hot hard to start problem it's most surely your injectors getting stuck open and draining off your fuel pressure it only takes one stuck open to drain off all pressure but a 91 should have em all replaced at same time any good diesel mechanic would know how to confirm this with a few simple tests

Problem with Ford F350 Diesel Starting

The glow plugs are only used in adverse conditions at low temperature so if it in not cold, that will not be the issue.
They do not burn out without a faulty relay keeping them on for prolonged periods. More likely the injectors and pump requires attention if you have good compression.

2006 f350 6.0 powerstroke diesel missing. help

there is no wastegate on a 6.0l turbo. its a variable geometry turbocharger and doesn't need it. i have never seen a turbocharger cause a misfire, the turbocharger is most likely not your problem. if you didn't clean the intake out when replacing the egr valve there is a really good chance that the egr is bad again. also, a bad egr cooler can cause repeat egr failure. also, fuel injector control module is a common cause for misfire

I have a 2000 F350 diesel manual trans 4X4 200,000+ miles that is having a power loss, idles fine but when you take off it starts to sputter like a gas motor with a stuck choke. Just changed the fuel...

If you changed the fuel filter 2 weeks ago, I would first verify that the fuel filter is good! Dirt from the tank could have clogged it up again.

The next suspect would be the fuel pump in the tank.

What does the vehecile act like if you rev the engine up in neutral? Does it show any signs of fuel starvation? If so concentrate on fuel system.

What engine oil type is recommended for an F350, 2001 with 189,000 miles?

You still need to run what the manufactorer states regardless of the age and mileage. You did not mention gas or diesel, assuming gas then it should be 5-20 or 5-30

1994 f350 diesel loose oil pressure as rpm increase what is it.

How many miles on the engine? Replace the oil w/ a 75/25 blend of Motor oil and Lucas Oil Stabilizer. This may help some but I'm afraid the engine needs an inframe overhaul.

It run.but no power.even i step on the gas.it only run up to 25 mile p.h.my r.p.m. is to high.

For no power I would say get your cat. converter check out. It is probably clogged and needs to be replaced. For the high rpm's replace the throttle position sensor.

Tow/haul light comes on gauge shows HOT

Does the trans fluid have a burnt smell and is it brown or dark brown as opposed to a red wine color? If this is the case then you may have a service issue caused by a clogged trans filter which is what this sounds a great deal like and the sooner you get the truck to the dealer or your mechanic the better as the trans in these are not cheap to rebuild or replace.

F350 2000 stalling and sputtering while driving after running a while or runs fine

Many possibilities:
Is it a Diesel?
Camshaft position sensor recall may cover it.
Gas or Diesel:
Fuel Pump and/or relay.
Fuel Filter.

Engine codes could help if Check Engine Light is on.
