If you are installing a new compressor, look on the box or on a sticker on the unit to make sure it does not have oil already installed. But it calls for 8 oz.This seems a little mutch to me.I would put no more than 6oz...Good Luck!!!

How much pag oil go in my Dodge Durango ac compressor 2004 model

there will be no need to put oil in an ac compressor
new compressors already have oil in them and old units have the oil through out the ac system that comes back in with the gas.

Accumalator/drier do i need oil

accumolator, condensor, evaporator all store some oil.compressor has oil as well.if you bought used compressor, you only had to make sure theres about 3-4 of oil in it,no worries, remove a plug on the body of compressor and drain the oil,too much oil in system will prevent it from cooling.

How to put oil in the a/c compressor on a 2001 land rover discovery series ii

you can not put oil on yourself. You have to visit a qulified garage where they know how to do it. The oil goes with the same machine which is putting freon gas in the ac compressor.

How much oild to put in the ac compreeser

unless you are changing a new compressor you should not have to add any oil in there. Do not put oil since the compressor already has enough oil in it. If you put oil in there and it already has oil, the AC system will not function properly because it has too much oil. How much oil to put in there is determined how much is already in there.

How much compressor oil do I add when changing the ac compressor on a 04 expedition with front and rear ac?

When replacing the compressor the dryer should also be replaced, you put 2oz of oil in compressor and stand compressor on pulley for 5 min, then after install turn clutch 10 turns to pump most oil out of compressor, the dryer should have 2 oz of oil also, if you are flushing the ac system out with a solvent then more oil is needed for the system, if your just replacing the compressor then 2oz in compressor.

Installed new air conditioning compressor in 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix - how much compressor oil do I need to put in?

If you have not cleaned out the ac system, the ac system will have oil in it,but, the compressor most likely does not have any in it,so pour about 4 to 5 oz in the low side opening on the compressor before installing it,and turn the center nut of the compressor clutch about 8 to 10 times, oil will try and come out the high side, when it does, this will be enough turning. If the system needs more oil,add as needed when freon is put in the system. If the oil is not added to the ac compressor before installing, the compressor could be damaged. Please rate if this was helpful, thank you.

When replacing the air conditioner Compressor and dyer how do I determine how much oil to put back into the system?

THE ACCUMULATOR OR DRYER.YOU HAVE TO PUT 1 OUNCE OF REFRIGERANT OIL IN IT.THE COMPRESSOR HAS SHIPPING OIL IN IT.IT HAS TO BE REPLACED.SO YOU TAKE NEW COMPRESSOR POUR OUT THE SHIPPING OIL IN IT.AND PUT THE SAME AMOUNT OF NEW REFRIGERANT IN COMPRESSOR.GO TO GARAGE OR AUTO PARTS PLACE.TO CHECK TO SEE HOW MUCH OIL COMPRESSOR HOLD TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE.

I am working on a 2000 nissan maxima and i have replaced the compressor and refilled the freon and oil and the presure relief valve keeps poping open with only one can of freon instaled it seems likethere...

Sometimes there are plugs in the compressor when shipped. Make sure that there is nothing in the compressor where the line attach. How much oil did you put in the system. Compressor are shipped with oil in them. The correct way to measure would be to drain the oil compressor and measure that amount. Then drain the new compressor and compare the amounts. Put NEW oil in the new compressor. Remember the compressor can not compress liquids. It is possible that there is too much oil in the compressor.
