This is a common problem.
there is a pressure switch in the refrigerant system. when the pressure is too low, it stops the clutch engaging on the compressor.

all you should need to do is top up the refrigerant

In order to start my 2001 ford ranger I need to depress the clutch or put it in neutral now when I depress the clutch the truck jumps as though the clutch is still engaged

Hello Zachary, There is only one explanation that I can come up with for your situation. If your input shaft bushing or bearing is dirty or dry , that could cause the symptom of the clutch not releasing. Usually a dry or dirty input shaft bushing or bearing will make some kind of noise when the clutch pedal is depressed when the engine is running while shifting gears.

'03 2.5L Ford Ranger Standard Trans, Engine at times won't turn over, does not click, battery is fully charged.

Neutral safety switch on the clutch pedal may be going out. Its a $15 fix. It tells the computer if the clutch is engaged. If it goes out its like trying to start with out pushing in the clutch, wont turn over at all. Hope this helps.

Our church has a 2000 Ford E-450 25 passenger mini-bus. The a/c works sporadically and at times, makes a clicking sound. Any suggestions?

Sounds like the A/C clutch maybe making the noise. You may need the A/C serviced, it could be low on Freon, or the A/C clutch is going bad.

2000 ford ranger super cab won't start clicking

Could be corrosion on the cables, I would clean both cables and try again. if no corrosion I would then look at the battery for correct voltage and fluid. batttery could be bad.

Ok hear we go agian 2000 ford taurs 3.0 lit no a/c when i jump the compressor with a jumper wire. it works fine and i checked the high side swtich it works fine and the low side works ok to.

There are 3 likely problems:
  1. system could be air locked; when recharged, its possible more air than refrigerant was pumped into the system
  2. clogged or bad expansion valve
  3. AC clutch is bad; although it will engage when you jump it, the clutch could still be bad preventing it from engaging when you turn on the AC
Hope this answers your question. Best of luck.

My clutch won't engage

There is a rubber plug on the bottom of the transmission bellhousing. Remove the plug and look in to see if the slave cylinder is leaking. If yes the transmission will need removed to replace it. While you are there, check the clutch disc and pressure plate and replace as needed.

2001 ford f250 How many time should one tire spin before the limited slip engages?

if one tire is off the ground it will spin as long as it has power , hence "limited slip" , i have seen the clutches wear out , also incorrect fluid will damage clutches
