I have a '05 F350 6.0 liter. It has running really rough lately when I first turn it on, sometimes when I stop at a light. One night was going down the road and it wouldn't even accelerate, so I put it into low gear (5speed) limped it to a mechanic and he chanced out the fuel filter. This seemed to fix the problem for about a month, then one day I was going down the road and it just died, all it does is crank over. Took it to another mechanic he hooked it up to a diagnostic machine and it shows nothing wrong. Now I am taking it to Ford dealership. Any thoughts on this 6.0 disaster

Check the fuel delivery system. Everything on a 6.0 is dependent on the high-pressure oil system to actuate the injectors. If there is a fault in the system, the ECM will not allow the motor to start or run. CHANGE OIL RELIGOUSLY! I'd start with verifying the IPR and IPC are operating correctly. Depending on the year, these are located in different locations. In my 03' they are located under the heat shield below the turbo at the rear of the motor. Need a cool motor to inspect cause you've got to lay on it to access from the top.
