it make a difference weither it a 4 door or 2 door, but basickly the switch is mounted on the door latch assy. you will need to remove the door panel and then make sure the window is up all the way you will see two wires going into the latch follow the wires to the switch there should only be one screw that holds the switch to the latch remove the screw and lift up and out on the switch to remove it from the latch.

it is not nessery to remove the dash, if you remove the lower dash cover. ( there should be 4, 9/32" screws that hold the lip of the panel to the lower dash ) you then will be able to get to the switch, it has 2 tabs on the side of the switch that you push in on then push the switch out the dash, some times you can use a small flat screw driver to release the tabs by inserting the driver under the top of the switch, if you go buy a new switch you will see how the tabs work and were they are in relation to the top of the switch.

How do you change door actavated light switch on a 1991 gran margius

If it is like the 1990, the jamb switch is located at the FRONT of the door jamb between the two hinges, and is accessible by removing the adjacent kick panel. the rubber (if present, otherwise just the collar) unscrews, and the switch can be pulled out from the kick panel side (towards the front of the car). There is a standard Ford plug harness on the back of the switch.
Just FYI, the switches do not normally simply fail. They become corroded internally, and either stick or become intermittent. If the switch is flaky or stuck, just spray WD-40 into it from the door jamb side and push it in and out manually a few times. Normally, it will regain full function with no further effort! I've restored MANY "failed" door jamb switches in this way, and never had to mess with them again.

Radio stays on after ignition is turned off, runs down battery

Then your problem is caused by the drivers door coutesy light switch being defective, a common problem, replace it or clean the contacts to correct the problem, below is the part number and a picture of the switch. To replace it you just pry the old switch out and then pop the new one in, 5 minute job.

Where is front drivers door jamb switch

It's probably inside the door, built into the latch mechanism. I don't know for sure though.

Doors seif locking all the time wont stay unlocked

Get to the bottom of this, the next step is a circuit hot when you do not want it.

Most of these issues happen in the door jamb. Are all of the switches looking non damaged? disconnect the switches one by one to eliminate them.

Move the bundle in the door jamb and see if you can affect the issue. There are no successul repairs in this area, replace at least the entire run throught the jamb, but ideally the whole loom that you have to get to replace the jamb portion.
