You will have to remove the engine to do this as there is no room to do it while engine is in the truck. It requires you to remove the oil pan to replace the oil pump.

No oil pressure

either replace oil sending unit or get a manual oil pressure gauge and screw in to oil sending unit port and visually check with engine running to see if or what the actual pressure is. If 0 pressure registers then bad oil pump. but if good pressure, then you have a bad oil sending unit. also change oil filter.

Need to know how to put a oil pump in a 1998 ford explorer xlt 5.0 liter

The oil pump is internal.Unless you can get the oil pan off,you can't do the job.I'd think you'd have to pull the engine on the explorer especially if it's 4x4.Thats a tight fit.Hope this helps!

I just had the head and radiator fixed on my 01 altima but now theres no oil pressure do anybody know why?

Check oil pump, that is probably not working. If the oil pump is fine you have a big oil leak.

1998 toyota camry,4,cylinder, 5 speed

it sounds like your oil pressure sending unit may be plugged by whatever took your pressure down to 5-8 psi the first time. this is extremely low pressure as i am sure you know but at 30 psi your light should go off i would replace the sending unit if your oil pressure is holding 30

How to change oil pump in 1998 mercury mountaineer

remove the oil pan. remove the oil pick - up tube-to -main bearing cap nut. remove the oil pump pick-up tube mounting bolts. remove the oil pump mounting bolts and lower th eoil pump assembly. If the pump is faulty, or you suspect that it's faulty, install a new one- do not attempt to repair the orginal. The oil pump hex driveshaft will come out with the pump . Examine the ends for wear,"Caution": If this shaft breaks, serious engine damage can result. If it looks worn, replace it.
