Sometimes when i start the car it starts runnin funny and i can hear air somewhere round the air filter then idel and starts running smooth again

I would check, for any vacuum leaks, you could have a vacuum hose with a hole in it, or one that is disconnected.

Can either be fuel filter is dirty or fuel pump is going and there may be a short or burnt wire on the fuel relay. they should all be located in the same area.

Saturn starting problems

u should check the specs on the coolant sensor & ck for vacuum leaks. When u step on the "gas" u are really controlling the air intake, the fuel injection is controlling the fuel. A bad coolant sensor or vac leak will give u these problems also. ck emissions when running. Good luck

Dirty throttle body and idle/air control motor - Can of Carb. cleaner sprayed into throttle body and idle/air hole while engine is running.

If engine is also running rough check:
-Spark Plugs.
-Compression for bad valve.

1992 4runner idels rough sometimes

Check the intake hose to make sure that it doesn't have a whole in it also check the air box that the filter goes in also. Mine was idling rough also and we found a whole in the filter box and the intake hose had a whole in it. Hope this helps.

look a plugs and round rubber seals at the distributor -
