SOURCE: 1999 Buick Century thermostat question.

patience , and a 13 MM wrench , you gotta get your arms in there deep , that lower bolt does not need to come all the way off , the thermostat housing has a slot at the bottom for easier access , loosen it about 3.4 of the way and you can get the housing out , experience says a premium thermostat will give you grief trying to reinstall , get a regular duty thermostat .reverse procedure.

SOURCE: 1999 Buick Century headlights don't work properly

Iam an ASE Certified mechanic and i had the same problem with my 99 century and i wasnt able to drive at night. After hours of testing wires we came to the problem. Its the turn signal switch assembly which is tied into the hazard switch on top of the steering column. Its all one piece with a 3 foot long wiring harness attached to it running down the bottom of the steering column and going underneath the dash. The least expensive place i found the part and had it in stock was my local Auto Zone and still the part was $200.00.

P.S. This is a common problem on these GM cars. Mine did the same thing to the tee! The lights will go on and off then they just went off for good and this solved the problem. I guarantee it. If you have any questions please email me i will do all i can to help.

How to replace key ignition

I don't think your vehicle has an airbag system, but please be certain if it has I would refer you to a manual for the proceedure to discharge SRS system before you start. Some local libraries have manuals that they will let you look at and photo copy. You will need a good quality steering wheel puller, and snap ring pliers and a tool to remove the locking ring retainer and to reinstall it. All you need to do is pull the horn ring (look at the back of the steering wheel) remove the screws that hold horn pad on. Next loosen the steering wheel nut do not remove at this time this is left on to prevent you from getting a steering wheel in the teeth when it pops loose, (possibly). Next check to see the locater marks on the column shaft and the wheel note position and mark if necessary. Do not use a hammer to pound on shaft of column it WILL damage the shaft! Use steering wheel puller tool to remove wheel. Next use the lock plate removal tool to depress and release pressure on retaining clip holding plate on remove plate. You may have to pull turn signal switch out of the way by removing the handle and retaining screws. Now you will see a plastic clip that holds two brass comtacts carefully move the top plastic release clip down to release and remove small contact assembly. You should be able to see a square notch in front of the mechanical key lock mechanism. With battery disconnected move cylinder to on position and slide out assembly. Slide new assembly in place and try back to lock position and remove key. Reverse order to assemble.

How to take of stearing wheel of bmw

There will either be two torx bolts behind the steering wheel spokes to release the airbag or in the same place there will be a hole on either side where a flat head screwdriver can be inserted to push a spring clip off a securing clip. Remember to disconnect the battery before touching the airbag. Once the airbag is removed you will easily be able to undo the bolt that retains the steering wheel.

How to remove the steering wheel from a 318 E46

Disconnect the negative battery terminal using a 10mm wrench and secure it away from the battery. Allow the car to sit for 10 minutes before attempting to continue.Locate the two airbag release holes behind the top of the steering wheel. Insert a thin flat bladed screw driver through the hole and push on the airbag retention spring. When the spring is pushed in, the airbag will release. It can take a little time to find the spring, so be patient. Repeat the same step on the other side of the steering wheel. Lift airbag away from steering wheel and locate connectors on back of airbag. Using a small flat blade screwdriver, Pry the connector clip upwards. Once the tab is up, unplug and repeat on the other connector. Store airbag in a safe place with the front facing upwards.Remove the top plug inside the steering wheel from the slip ring and move aside. Using a 16mm socket, remove the bolt in the center of the steering wheel. You will need to hold the wheel tight with one hand while you break the bolt loose with the other. A second person can hold the wheel also while bolt is broken loose. Once bolt is out, pull the wheel towards you to remove from the column.

How do I remove the steeringwheel from a 1997 toyota tacoma v-6 4x4

you must removwe the airbag first. disconnect the battery for at least 10 minutes before you start. on th sidecover of the steering wheel you will find two covers that you must remove. underneath these covers you will find two # 30 torx screws. loosen these screws. they will not come all the way out. once they are removed lift out the airbag. carefully disconnect the airbag wiring. there is a 17mm nut holding the steering wheel on , remove it. at this point you can try to wiggle the wheel off but you will probably need a steering wheel puller. you would be much better off letting a professional handle this.

Removal of 2008 Prius steering wheel -

with a small flat screwdriver, remove the 2 by 2 inch black plastic covers behind the steering wheel. one of them has a hole for the cruis control lever.
loosen but dont remove the two torx screws behind these covers.
allow the airbag to fall out into your hands.
carefully raise the two yellow retainers on the airbag wires, then pull the wires away from the airbag module.
then squeeze and pull the black horn wire from the airbag.
to replace the steering wheel, unplug all the wires you see and remove the 19mm nut holding the wheel.
then by hand wiggle the steering wheel toward you.
