I'd have your "new" alternator bench tested, it sounds like it is bad. Every once in awhile even new or rebuilts slip by inspection. (That's why they have warranties)

Before I bought the new alternator I had the old on tested, they said it was good. They said that my battery was bad,so i bought a new one. I can charge the new battery til its full, and it will drain in no time at all. HELP

Still sounds like alternator, when you drive you're running on straight battery power. When you pull alternator check wiring coming from alternator that it's not broken, melted to engine. Same with battery cable ends.

I'll check all of those again and try another alternator. thank you :)

Have a 2000 dodge durango w/new batter, blower all lights work but battery wont take charge??????????????????????

If you have changed the battery, have it load tested to make sure it is not defective.
A tech can also check the voltage output and regulator. I am assuming you have already had these two check done as well as ECM error codes. The PCM, powertrain control module would be my next component to have checked. A dealership should have the software to check this. I believe that the OEM part runs around $8 to $900.00 dollars. You may be able to get an aftermarket replacement for around $200, but once installed electrical components are not returnable. Do not get stranded somewhere, have a dealship check this problem out!

2001 dodge durango check gage light came on, battery gage when to low. Do I need a new battery?

Have your charging system checked. It could be a bad battery not taking a charge, or it could be an alternator problem, not putting out sufficient power.

Have a 2001 dodge durango replaced battery and new alternator.... when you first start the car the alternator gage will jump up to about 12amp then will just drop down to wear it wont charge

I suggest that the problem is not in the alternators but in the battery . Dirty battery posts and terminals will do this so ensure that they are shiny clean and tight. Next have the battery load tested for a faulty cell or broken cell bridge.

1998 dodge durango trouble's

You are hearing general answers because you need someone there in person to diagnose the problem.
You have to check the major fuses and fuseable links to find out what you toasted when you hooked up the jumper cables wrong. Once you find out which circuits are dead you have to trace back to the battery to find out why.
You may need a shop manual to get all of the wiring diagrams needed.

I have 02 durango started it put it in reverse gave it gas and it died checked the fuses only one 20amp fuse needed change Icgs before the problem info seatbelt light airbaglight abs brakelight on the...

The stall in reverse is most likely unrelated to your problem, unless your alternator went bad, and your battery is discharged. Try charging/replacing your battery. A jump start may not work as Dodge trucks don't like to idle well with a weak battery. Then try starting again, if it runs check the voltage at the battery. You should have 13-14.5 volts, if not you have a dead alternator. If it still won't start, please post some more details.

98' dodge durango not charging. battery is fine all wires are connected. is there anything I should try before putting a new alternator in

If you are able to drive it to the parts store, they can test the alternator on the vehicle to see if it is charging. If not, check your belts to make sure they are tight and rotating the alternator properly. Last resort, new alternator.

1998 dodge durango running fine when parked. next day, battery low would not jump start, changed battery, new battery cranks good but won't even attempt to start.

Go to AutoBeef.com and you will see there is a problem with th 98 & 99
Durangos. I took the advice to buy a refurbished PCM "Brain" from an online Florida company and my car has worked great ever since. Google for refurbished PCMs my cost <$300.00 and only 3 screws to change out. CAll the PCM company and tell they staff about your problem -- see if they think it is the brain. Sounds like same problem I had.
