If it's not on the radiator then it might be on the thermostat housing.

My radiator fan stays on its not the relay, could it be the sensor? where is it located if it is the sensor? thanks laurie

Could very well be the sensor (thermostat). No idea where yours is located, but parts store location chart may help, or you could buy a shop manual.

On a 2001 vw cabrio, where is the cooling fan sensor?

The fans are controlled by a temp sensor that is screwed into the radiator. It is located on the bottom of the radiator, driver side. There will be an electrical connector with I believe 4 wires attached to it. This sensor controls both low and high fan speeds.

Location of the temp.cooling switch /or sensor for radiator cooling fans on 2006 chrysler 300 c

The radiator cooling fans are controlled by the engine managment computer, it uses the signal from the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECT), unless the engine is hard starting or runs poorly the sensor is not the problem. Also the Check Engine light would be on, is that the case?

There is also a fan relay that control look in fuse box inside the hood for fan relay and make sure its NOT stuck , if it isn't then its the fan switch. This switch may be bad and cause the fan to turn on. Replace radiator fan switch located on water outlet on engine and this should solve your problem. A

1998 ford mustang radiator cooing fan wont come on

Check the fluid level in the radiator - after it cools down !

It sounds like you should replace the temperature sensor that controls the fan. This is usually located in the radiator and has electrical wires connected to it. Trace the wires from the radiator fan ( not the air conditioner fan!) to the sensor.

If the radiator is aluminum you may need special anti-freeze to prevent damage.

1995 monte carlo overheating

If the radiator fan isn't coming on I would check the coolant temperature sensor which tells the fan to turn on. Check your owners manuel for locations of fuses or relays that control the fan. Lastly you can unplug the fan and direct jumper it to make sure the motor isn't burnt out. I hope this helps.
