Signs blown head gasket

Cracked head means replace your engine, head gasket if you do it yourself approx $150 , dealership cost $800. Remove the oil cap on the top of the engine block , put your finger in and see what color the oil is if it's dark it's not a cracked head , if it's white and or milky looking, you have water in your oil, cracked head !

1994 Mazda B3000 V6 engine oil pushes into coolant. Have to add engine oil all the time and drain the recovery bottle. 65,000 miles. Never been overheated.

Failure of head gasket between cylinder head and block.

Because oil pressure is higher than coolant pressure, oil will creep across poor sealing area of head gasket from the oil riser drilling that feeds the cylinder heads cam assembly's.

Worst case scenario would be a cracked cylinder head/s. No totally unheard of but rare.

Continued oiling of the coolant system will rot out the coolant hoses from the inside to the point they will burst.

Due to the year of this engine it may be prudent to find a used engine with less miles and swap it out.

What are your changes of having of taking the blown head gasket to machine shop and repaired and putting back on motor

Cylinder head gaskets (the thin copper layer between the head and block) are not normally repairable, it is better to fit a new one.

If you mean getting the cylinder head itself repaired at the machine shop that is certainly possible but depends on the extent of the damage and wether it is iron or aluminium (particularly if it needs welding).

head gasket repairs will cost you thousands 2 at the least as it involves stripping down half your engine, if the engine starts and you can run the car for more than 40 mins you are in luck, there is this stuff called SEAL UP i think the brand is CARGO you pour it in your radiator and it chemically welds your head gaskets and other cracks back together and lasts for ages and actually works brilliantly assuming the crack isn't to big used it on my car last nite as i had blown head gasket and it runs great now
