In the engine.

1. you may be low in oil
2. poor electric flow. (spark plugs, high tension wires, etc)
3. bad compression
4. bad fuel-air mix

have a mechanic check.

hope it helps.

Nissan Avenir Problem need Help

the is not likely to be a fuel pump problem, spark problem or any thing like that
Run the fault codes
I suspect that there is a problem either in the wire and harness connection to the injectors or the ECM control of the injectors
after you read the codes , try exchanging the ECM with a known good one to see if it starts as ECM is listed in many codes as a possible cause of the faults
as to the noise around the air injector pump , if it is not mechanical , there may be a code there for that as well

2000 Grand Vitara breaksdown, backfires and dies while driving after about 30 minutes. Starts again in about an hour. Changed fuel pressure regulator. Made no difference.

The check engine will be on if the key is on but engine not running . This is normal. If the check engine goes out when the engine starts there are no codes present . Did you check the fuel filter . Sometimes when a filter is dirty there is sedement laying in the filter canister . When the pump starts working the flow picks up the sedement and plugs any remaining open screen and stops the fuel completely . The engine stops . When the flow stops the sedement falls back allowing flow again. and the engine will run for another while . If the filter is old it should be changed anyway . Also when the engine stops check to see if there is spark at the spark plugs while cranking the engine .

Why won't my 2012 Suzuki Grand Vitara start?

ill answer for NO ELECTRICAL POWER :
sure and is easy with any DMM meter, got one? any $20 DMM.
my guess;1
engine will not crank
dash lamps out.
head lights out. dead.
post systems of electrical system , all parts that work and those that dont work, and problem is easy.
cleaned battery terminals.
tried borrowed battery that reads, 12.6vdc ? (charged is 12.6)
2012 that is in warranty car.... ?
my guess on 2012
jumping a car, that is battery jump starting.
a battery can short, and no jump start on earth will start shorted battery in car. but does lay down some big sparks, or burns up cheap walmart cables.
if the car will not crank, say just that, my starter motor will not crank
jump started from live running other car.
if true then make sure headlights work , if they dont work fix that first.
HL must always work, even keys in pocket.
best is to put a fully charged battery in the car, jump starting can cause
surges that can damage sensitive electronic$$$, do jumps as a desperate measure,
with a charged battery,
1: Head lights work, no fix that , use voltmeter
2: cranks robustly.
no , wiggle shifter lever, (on A/T cars the park switch blocks cranking) On M/T the clutch blocks cranking.
with any dMM
measure battery voltage before crank and during.
12.6v good. reseted.
cranking.
0 to 10v bad (weak battery or shorted starter motor)
11 and above good. and must crank, if not , starter is bad.
to prove starter is bad, check voltage at starter solenoid coil wire lug.
it must be at 11v cranking , below 8v it chatters, and fails.
if at 0v cranking this lug that means the Key start line is failing.
A/T switch not closes, or bad ignition switch.

My 2003 chevy malibu cranks but wont start. battery is good and altenator is good

To clarify - - if the engine cranks the battery and starter are ok.
The alternator does not come into play until the engine is running.
If it cranks but won't start, you have to figure out if you are missing fuel to the injectors or spark to the plugs to proceed.
A mechanic would check that and if there are any trouble codes stored in the computer.

Won't start. 2 fully charged batteries tried. Cleaned battery connections. Just clicks when turning key to "Start". Car stopped while driving. Towed home.

This sounds like a loose connection at the starter, Follow the positive battery cable down to the starter. Check the connection for being hot (rusty color). There are two large connections on the starter check both. If one or the other looks discolored the starter may be damaged. Be sure the engine is not locked up. Try to turn the engine by hand at the main crank bolt.

2000 vw new bettle diesel won't start battery dead when i bought it touched it w/starting fluid cranked cut off

If the engine does not reach 300 rpm while cranking..engine will not start.

It needs good battery power to crank these with spare power to run the electronics.

If with good battery if fires and immediately stops, and the little 'yellow car' is illuminated in the cluster.... the immobiliser is active and you need a shop to fix it.

BTW..Stop with the Easy Start fluid already. You'll break a piston ring or worse...such as....the Glow Plugs will cause a back fire and you will likely strip the timing belt...major repairs...like $3500 and up.

Hello info49624

you have done everything right so far. now since what you have done didn't work. This could only mean that your Alternator is no longer working. The purpose of the alternator is to keep the battery charged up so all your car functions work. The alternator stands by to restore the electrical charge used to crank the engine. It , once the engine is running, charges the battery and runs the electrical system of the car. It typically takes about twenty miles of driving to restore the charge to the battery from starting the engine. Most alternators are internally regulated to assure proper output voltage . Older cars have alternators with external regulators There are some exceptions to this but this true in the majority of cases. One of the exceptions is a high current alternator for a Lincoln that delivers 120 volts AC for receptacles (the same as at home) in addition to the charging of the battery.

I would check that the auxilliary drive belt that runs the alternator and probably the water pump hasn't just broken, causing the engine to overheat and the battery to run flat. Just a suggestion, hope it helps.
