We had to pull and reinstall head on Maxima. The car was running afterward. My mechanic saw a vaccum line off so he had to pull intake again. Since this, the anti-theft light is flashing & car will turn over but power to fuel pump & fire has been lost. Any ideas?? Thanks, Stephen
If the light is flashing than the anti-theft is activated. Try locking and unlocking the car with the door lock button on the drivers side. lock and unlock a minimum of three times until the light quits flashing. If the car has loaded up (smells like fuel when cranking) then pull the fuel pump fuse and hold the throttle all the way down when cranking to clear the cylinders, then replace fuse and repeat the procedure with the lock switch if the light is still flashing. It should fire right uo if the light is no longer flashing and the fuse (15 amp) is put back in.
a 6ya Mechanic can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Have a mechanic install a new ignition lock cylinder with a new key so you can use the car normally without bypassing things. By bypassing the anti-theft then you are making it easier to steal your car.
you may find tha the locks need a good oil, and the pasenger sid as it dont get used , they may of both gon stiff and the micr switch tha sits next to the lock barrow is thinking its still locked .. my bmw used to lock me in wen a slamed the door
there is a chip inside your car key some times gets damage or the car computer gets damage and no longer recognize your key chip this causes the anti theft system to prevent the fuel injectors to open and the engine will not start because has no gas.
the security light stain on is your hint of what is going on.
I had the same problem on a 99 Nissan Maxima but i got the car running again what you need to do is replace the engine computer and then call a locksmith to reprogram your key to be recognize by the new computer i when to a lot of pain and suffer to get this solve.
before changing any thing make sure the plastic part of the key is not broken, if it is call your locksmith to make you a new one before changing any thing.
NOTE do not use a computer from a salvage yard unless you get to see the actual car it came from
if it came from a car than has the body in one piece do not buy it
its real hard to diagnose this problem and
chances are it came there because of the same problem you have.
if the car looks like it was in a crash the computer is more likely to be good.
but its always best to get it rebuild or brand new if you can. after you change the computer call the locksmith to get you car key reprogram.
Do not use a computer from a 98 or 2000 because they will not work no mater what the salvage yard tells you they are to make money not to help you so it has to be 99 only.
