HVAC (Aircon/Heater) drain plug could be clogged or may have fallen off the drain port. This will leak water condensed from the Aircon during operation (if you have Climate Control the aircon is operating continuously summer and winter).

If your car has a sunroof, one if the sunroof drains runs down through windshield post down through to bottom of the car. If it gets plugged it will back up into car. If it's coolant you're finding (sticky and smelling like coolant) your heater core is leaking

Every time it rains water comes into the passenger side footwell. My Audi is a 2.6 convertible 1998 model. any ideas how to solve this problem ?

The drains under the battery are blocked causing water to come through holes in firewall. Remove battery and unblock drain to fix. Unfortunately there are computers under passengerseat carpet which will probably be damp. best to leave a dehumidifier in your car for a day to try and dry out.

Hi i have a audi a8 2.8 v6 petrol and i cant seem to find the fuse box and i also have looked under the passenger side footwell but still no luck

On a 1997-2002 A8 the fuse box is in the passenger side footwell. There is a small knob that must be unscrewed and the carpeted panel must be removed to reveal the fuse box.

2004 Audi A3 power windows and central locking have stopped working, are these on the same fuse!!!

Yes they are on the same fuse. If changing the fuse doesn't fix the problem check the passenger footwell for dampness as water can get into the convenience control unit from a possible leaking pollen filter housing. If there is no dampness, the control unit could still cause this problem and it;s situated under the carpet in the passenger footwell.

Water in the rear passenger footwell

Not unless it was blowing like stink. Was a rear window left open? Water could get in around the rear window and find it's way there. Have someone spray the car with a hose while you're in it or ride back there through a car wash. Have a friend help and you buy the treat.

Hi Guys,
I have had this problem several times and first was solved by claring leaves from two drains under battery. Second time I did the pollen filter thing with silicon as hophouse did above, it is looking good so far.

1996 Accord AC overflows

I have to agree on the possibility of a clogged A/C drain hose (overflow hose).

You would need to visually inspect this hose for any sign of cut, abrasion or kinks since these are the common cause(s) excess water coming out in the passenger foot area. If it is a blockage, the corrective procedure would be to remove the hose's connection to the evaporator casing (under the dash), insert a stiff wire with a dull point to clear out the blockage. Alternately easier (but messy), blow compressed air backwards into the free end of the drain hose. The free end is on the firewall in the engine compartment.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
