Question about 2000 Audi A4
HVAC (Aircon/Heater) drain plug could be clogged or may have fallen off the drain port. This will leak water condensed from the Aircon during operation (if you have Climate Control the aircon is operating continuously summer and winter).

If your car has a sunroof, one if the sunroof drains runs down through windshield post down through to bottom of the car. If it gets plugged it will back up into car. If it's coolant you're finding (sticky and smelling like coolant) your heater core is leaking

On a 1997-2002 A8 the fuse box is in the passenger side footwell. There is a small knob that must be unscrewed and the carpeted panel must be removed to reveal the fuse box.
