It means your alternator is over charging, take to Auto Zone and have it tested. should not be charging over 13.5 volts. You might notice it is boiling the acid out of the battery

My 2000 linclon ls 6 cly cranks but sounds terriable just started doing it

I hope it's not the timing chain tensioner,Chris. I know the 2000 V8 engines had bad tensioners.
Could it be a loose starter or the starter drive is hanging up in the flywheel teeth?
Could it be a really bad DRIVE BELT TENSIONER or the idler pulley gone bad?
It's just difficult to say,but I hope it's not the TIMING CHAIN TENSIONERS. Lot of miles on it? don-ohio (:^)

2001 Lincoln ls v8 generator / alternator doesnt charge battery

Did you.. mark any of the parts that were removed so you would put them back on properly? There are only two plugs and the battery connector that hooks up to it. Do you have a regulator, either external or internal? If so, have that tested.

My ls is running very rough when at stop signs and red lights and cutting off

If you are throwing a code for random misfires then your tensioners for your timing chain are going bad. You might have even jumped a tooth on your timing. Need to replace timing chain and tensioners.

My 2004 Lincoln LS rattles each morning when I start it. It usually does not rattle during the day, but it does every once in awhile. Is this a timing chain or tensioner problem? If so, is this...

The V8 LS does have a history of timing chain tensioners bleeding down and causing a rattle as you describe. Make sure the oil filter you are using has a anti drain back valve. New tensioners are very labor intensive to install. Lincoln has no recalls for this problem hopefully you have some extended warranty to help with the cost of this repair.

Chain to the valve train on right side of the

Other than the chain breaking? I would recommend replacing all the chains while it is apart. Also all timing chain tensioners, tension arms & guides.

I don't have an answer to why, your specific parts, wore or broke.

2000 lincoln ls i got a trouble code p1633 (KAM)voltage to low

P1633 means KAM (Keep Alive Memory ) Voltage too low. the KAM is caused by low battery voltage and you replace the battery. When you replace the battery the KAM loses Memory and the problems resulting in what you are experiencing now. When replacing a new battery, reconnect the Positive cable first. And use a trickle battery charger set low to the cables before disconnectng the battery . this will keep the voltage to the ECM powered with enough voltage. All you can do now is make the computer relearn the way it should run. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, wait a while 20 seconds or so. then reconnect the cable. I do not know if this is a temporary fix or not but it should re-program the computer.
