Question about 2003 GMC Sierra 1500

1 Answer

How do you clamp the regulator to passenger door if the window clamps are in the way on a 2003 GMC Sierra? The window clamps won't go down much, I just have to clamp the regulator and crew it down and then screw the window clamps to the window. I'm just unable to clamp the regulator to the door, it's off by about half an inch. Thanks for your help.

Its best to attach the regulator to the door frame with the bolts first. Then plug in the motor and run it to the bottom. Then attach window glass to regulator, with the bolts. Do Not run the window up to the top without the glass attached. The cables will run off the end of the regulator channels. Approximately half way up the window to glass bolts will also line up thru holes in the frame. You can disattach the glass and hold it in place by simply using duct tape to the glass and the upper door frame. It will stay in place.

The most likely culprit is your driver's door control module... it's built into the driver's window switches. Double-check all your fuses before replacing any parts.

Passenger window will not go down

Its either the switch, or motor. The easiest way to test the switch
is to use the driver's switch to operate the window. If it allows the window to go down then simlpy replace the switch on the passenger side . If it doesn't then its the motor.

If you think its the regulator well,........ then it would effect movement in both directions and it wouldn't hold window up all the way.

1993 gmc sierra c1500 radiator hose broken

Loosen the plastic petcock valve at the bottom of the radiator to drain the coolant from the radiator, loose and remove both hose clamps slide them down away from the clamping area then take a pair of large channel lock pliers and sqeeze gently and turn the rubber hose to crack the bond that exists between the rubber hose and the metal tube, be sure not to squeeze too tight when getting the hose to turn, proceed to pull the hose off. Install the new hose with clamps slide the clamps over the hose ends and tighten them being sure to locate them 1/4" from the end of the hose, refill radiator and check for leaks.

Replace glass, drivers door on 1997 GMC 1/2 ton Truck ,2wd, Power windows

The door panel is held onto the door with clips but first you need to remove the screws from the grab handle on the door panel. then pop the bezel off around the inside door handle. very carefully!!! then using a clip tool pry off the peice that covers the rear view mirror nuts and pry gently all the way around the door panel until its loose then lift it up slightly to unseat the window channel strip off the door, then unhook your wires. As for the window roll it up, tape it to the door then line up the 2 10mm bolts that clamp it to the regulator with the provided holes in the door, loosen 'em up roll the regulator down and remove the window. Have fun guys!!!

2006 GMC Sierra 1500 cant remove spare tire

The safety clamp is seized. It is on the cable just above the cups that hold the tire rim up. My mechanic had to torch the cable to get it off. If you can release the tension on the cable (support the spare while lowering the crank you may be able to get the clamp to release. If not, cut the cable above the clamp and you will still have enough cable length to bolt the cup back on. The owner's manual details this procedure. ( GM must know it does not release properly)
