Need to know if there is one or two fuel filters for a 1997 F250 Diesel Powertruck superduty truck. Where are the filters/filter located. Never owned a diesel before and just bought it.

There is only 1 fuel filter and it's sits inside a canister on top of the engine towards the rear.

You probably have an air leak in the fuel line. Air bubbles rise to the top-most area of the tubing and form a "vapor lock" . Find the leak, stop the problem! IT's probably a loose connection somewhere.

Hello, Your sensor may be too sensitive after all the water went through. If the truck is running well, the filters must be working. There are some additives which help disperse water in Diesel fuel.
Disconnecting the Batteries was a good idea, but I am sure there are good additives at some busy truck stops. You can get some of the same stuff at Autozone or Oreillys, but they would not know like a longhaul Trucker would.

So I bet the best additives and advice will be found at the Truck stops. You might want to check with your Car Insurance company for coverage as the water problem was storm related via the drains and you are speculating thats the source. Could it as easily be Vandalism? Locking fuel caps may help. For what you spent and may continue to spend, an Insurance claim may be a good solution.

All you can do now is secure the tanks and pour the additives to it.

A good way you can test to see if the fuel pump is bad is to leave your fuel filter cap screwed down just enough to hold the cap in place and turn the key on inside the truck this will prime the filter housing. If the fuel doesnt overflow from underneath the cap then most likely it is your pump.

You have to drain the water out of the fuel tank. There should be instructions on how to do that in your owner's manual. The sensor is in the tank. Hope this helps.

Sounds like an ECU issue.  check your fuses, see if you can get an error code from a scanner, they have one at most checker auto stores that you can use for free.  Could be a Intake Air Temp sensor or a Throttle Position Sensor.  Thats what I would start with.  Good luck.
